I'm proud to announce that on the 5th March Nottingham's going to be holding it's first ever juggling convention! biggrin It's a one day event put on by Notts Jugglers and Jugglesoc whicjh will be taking place at the University.
From what i've been told it should be kinda similar to Chocfest or Bradford and i can vouch for the fact that the Notts lot are a sound and very friendly bunch of people....
juggle
... the only problem with the whole event is that i'm not gonna be there to enjoy it myself as i have to take the Uni Surf Club down for the Student Nationals the same weekend. frown All the other Notts spinners will be there though so if anyone needs somewhere to stay get in touch an i'll be able to hook you up....

*goes off to cry cos he's gonna miss out on all the fun* ubbcrying

The origami polyhedron!!!!!

That little ****-er was so frustrating!

Failed totally to put it together at the convention; finally managed it at home a couple of times. It's by far the hardest bit of origami I've encountered, but it justs sucks you in- I shudder to think of the hours I've spent trying to build it and watching it crumple into nothingness just before the last piece goes in.

However, most origami is actually very pleasant to do, and I was thinking about running a origami workshop at Sheffcon if anyones interested.

...I missed all the workshops so didn't learn any juggling or staffiness frown And I didn't get to speak to half of the people I wanted to frown Not even about playfestival stuff seeing as we were all together frown And I also appear to be the only person repeatedly ignored by Dave although saying hello, waving and making eye contact numerous times umm

Guess I really smelt on Saturday or something shrug ubblol

I had a lovely time once I finally got there after much being stuck in traffic and getting lost in Nottingham only to realise we'd been straight past it when we first arrived rolleyes Enjoyed the games although I think they were secrectly rigged just so Bluecat could win so many tongue and I even got to partake in one although technically I wasn't allowed ubbangel

The shows were marvelous, Rob & Tree, your second show was brilliant and looks ace on my cam-corder wink Hex, was good to see you, all the things I've heard were true, you're a really good juggler!! Shame you couldn't land that last 6baller, but the rest was totally worth watching.

Truelee Peachi, what can I say, the best hair-do of the whole evening! ubblol

The guy with the hats/bounce juggling, can't remember his name, he was great! The compare was as funny as....well a funny person comparing!

And another I can't remember the name of, the guy and girl diablo/contact duo, absolutely wonderful. The whole show was so well worked and great music too. Almost brough a tear to my eye......almost wink

Step, Soph, Ros, Rob, Tom, Steve, Mike, Cole and everyone else, was lovely to share a hug and see you all again, and to those I met for the first time I hope our paths cross again sometime soon hug juggle

I see here that there is another Nott a convention booked for the 4th march, but are ther any more details available yet? Are tePOOKa gonna be there again? Any more ideas as to what's gonna be there?

I see that last years page (from above link) mentioned that Uno was there contact juggling, and tePOOKa were there giving workshops and shows, but any news about this year? When will the site be updated? Dub, any ideas?
