top o' the morning wales based poiple! this is the thread for all things wales based, although the crew is mostly based in the land of taff currently with a sizeable offshoot in the land of tawe, please talk about funky things all over cymru in this thread!!
so, for the uninitiated, here is an exciting list of regular poi activities for the wales based....
Cardiff/Caerdydd:
Thursday nights, 8-10pm, come along to Ebenezer Church (Charles Street, around the back of Burger King and Next) for nofitstate circus' community juggling club, for poi and all sorts of other exciting juggle arts. It's just £2.
Little Devil's Circus coming soon... contact pitman for further details or keep an eye on this thread
on sunny evenings/days, Roath Park (Rec. or flower garden) you may well find a NOn spinning... it might also not be a NOn, or even a HoP person at all, but if you see someone there spinning, you may as well say hello...
at other unspecified times, there may be other meets, check the most recent posts in this thread for specific details...
Juggling Shops
Cardiff Games, Duke St Arcade: although not exclusively a juggling shop, they stock some poi, juggling balls and rings, plus occasional other sorts of toys... oh and the guy who owns it does poi too!

Hi Rach, There is now a regular meet going on for circus skills on a thursday night in the Phoenix Centre, Townhill from 7-9pm. There isn't any place to fire spin, but I'm sure you could do that down on the beach afterwards.

We've been along for lots of them and my Niece and her boyfriend have been going for over a year and they have had no problems and yes we are talking Townhill in Swansea.

It's £2 a session. You have to fill out a form when you first go too as they get funding for running it and bringing all the equipment and they have to submit a head count and type of visitor to their funding board. It's fairly basic asking name age and where you are from.

We are in the part of the building that the blue dot is on in the map. If you pull into the car park to the left of the dot you will see a door on the wall on the right. They look like fire doors, but they open into a hall.
I'll most probably be there Thursday if I can get a lift over.
I'm thinking of setting up a hooping meet at Llangennith... I could combine it into a poi/staff meet to if you like, but it probably won't be until next year now. The campsite that's just on the beach edge is a turn up and pitch one. You can't book in advance, so you just have to take pot luck as to if there is room. The earlier you arrive (especially at weekends) the better chance you have of getting in.

Hi Looking for a couple of Poi, Fire performers to do a show for upto 90mins outside cardiff city hall on evening of saturday 10th november.
show outdoors to entertain / impress guests as they arrive at the city hall for wedding reception.

Been juggling since I was about 11 - I wanted to be in the school play but couldn't act/sing etc but they needed a juggler so I spent hours learning and got the part! Recently taken up poi but not too good...

yeah, i'm pretty good, although that may change tomorrow, get my MRI results then :S yeah, college is taking it all out of me, 3 AS, 1 A2, gcse latin and honours. oh, and trying to fit in work and finding my first flat.
