Well I'm still training, mostly involving running aorund the island in circles many times! Call me naive, but I never realised that running would be so much effort! ubblol

On the plus side, the marathon's in the morning, and on a sunday, so if i run fast then i should be able to finish before the pub even opens!

Wow what a mental couple of weeks! Only just begun to feel back to normal to tell you all about it!

Went to Falmouth 5, wicked time! Met a few of you, the lovely Jo Rhymes was looking after me a bit as I was very shy about meeting everyone! Arrived late on Saturday night, but just in time to relax for a bit before heading down the beach. The whole evening was incredible, the fire, the spinning and the mass burn, everything was rocking! devil

Sunday was cool too just chilling out and around, though I think the previous night caught up with me a bit and i crashed quite early on the sunday night. Many thanks to Hyperlight for the ride into Hayle the next day, arrived just in time to catch my train down to Penzance, cheers dude! clap biggrin

So after that kick ass weekend, I had a few days of work before having to run in the Tresco marathon the following Sunday. To say I was bricking it would be an understatement! I was not looking forward to running 26.2 miles! ubblol

However, to my suprise it all went quite well! Bugger knows how! I finsihed in 4 hours 2 minutes, which wasn't bad considering it was my first marathon, and I had twisted my ankle a couple of weeks before so hadn't done much training in the run up to the actual run. But i was really pleased with my time, got myself a medal, and only just missed out on winning a prize for being first local male home. Report reads: Must try harder! ubblol

The weekend after this there was a big rowing event over here, the World Pilot Gig Championships. Basically rowing in a large wooden boat, 6 people and a cox. It all dates back a few hundred years to when ships were wrecked over here and the local wreckers would have to row out to the ships as fast as possible in order to a) save the crew and b) steal as much of the ships cargo as possible before she sank! And so into modern times this turned into more conventional racing, and now every May Bank holiday they have the World Championships over here. Ok, admittedly most of the gigs come from Cornwall and Devon, but we get Dutch crews every year, we've had American crews, and Faroese too. All in all it adds up to a weekend of carnage culminating in a big bbq party down the beach where much spinning ensues, well, much spinning from me anyway! weavesmiley

Crikey i've written a lot! Ok, final piece of news. I'm going to see Pearl Jam in September in Paris! with my beautiful lady Amy aka ScillySpinner ubblove Cannot wait for this!! Been wanting to catch Pearl Jam for years, had tickets for 2000 in Cardiff when they last toured the UK but couldn't go as I had an English Lit exam at 9am the following morning! But nothing is going to stop me this time! Sauscisson, mange tout, je joue au foot, just a small example of my excellent command of French biggrin

Phew, so now I'm going to rest my tired, typing hands! Hugs for all!

Sometimes it feel like Michaela Strachen has been on TV all my life. She looks good for 40 I must say. I remember meeting her when the Really Wild Show came to our school. She spelt my name wrong. I think she thought I was girl and put Jane instead of James ubblol

I have been mucho fantastico thank you Em! Although work is quickly becoming an annoyance now that the summer is approaching and we're getting busy, plus the fact that, being England, it bloody seems to rain all the time! And I thought we're having a big drought?!

Here's a picture of me with my marathon medal, alongside the other people from St.Mary's who ran!

Well, its been a while since i posted! The summer is something of a computer hiatus for me as I'm usually far too busy with work/play for any geektime! But now the inevitable slide into autumn has begun and thereofre I have return to my ever faithful computator smile

So what have I been up to? Well, Went to Glade in July and enjoyed a few days of dancing and smiling wide eyed in a field, which is always good fun! Done a few camping trips to other islands over here, camp fire, spinning, driving around in boats, lovely sunsets etc. Played in a six a side football tournament and did amazingly badly! ubblol took part in a sailing race that involved us coming nearly last, but having a great time wallowing in the sun with plenty of smokes and beer enjoying life on the sea. went to Paris and acted like a tourist going "Wow!" a lot! Also went to see Pearl Jam in Paris, which was one of *the* best gigs I have ever been to, just incredible!

Yet mostly the summer has consisted of spending time with my riends down the beach, bbqs and generally smmiling and having good times! Yay for good times!

So now my future awaits in Falmouth as of Saturday the 30th of September, when I shall leave the Isles of Scilly to embark on an MA course at Falmouth Uni. So more time by the sea, and more time spinning i should hope! ubbrollsmile

Can't wait bounce
