New 2the Neighbourhood....
Spinning for short time and still getting knee trembles afterwards!! Love it, Perth girl with no one to spin WITH
but plenty are those willing to watch. Wanting so so much to knowmore tricks and meet those of yu keen to flirt with fire.
I adore my hobby ( hobby not hubby) and miss my girl travelling Oz who hooked me up. I have returned to Perth after travelling Europe to find she is also spreading her wings to see this beautiful planet. Sooooooo, just me here doing my thang till she gets back from Cairns with some real triX up her sleeve.
ANY tips?? Actually...
Why do my poi go out? I soak overnight then before i start, they are soaked again! Then, 3-4mins into it, 'HELP, someone turned the light out!!'. How come? They are soaked in Kero.

There's a few ways to get longer burn times, the most obvious being get some bigger wicks. Cathedral wicks burn for ages, in my experience. Also, there's a few methods floating around about building poi with towelling inside to soak up more paraffin.

Or you can try to learn to do all your tricks alot slower... this can do two things... one, give your style a more flowy and graceful feel and two, let you to burn for abit longer as you poi are not continuing to fight to hold on to the vapours of the fuel... ohh, and welcome...

Do u think soaking in Citronella will absorb better? And best place to get these Cathedral wicks is thru the HoP shop?

Citronella won't absorb any 'better' than Kero, as they are both liquids. The only difference would be the smell of the smoke. I'd reconmend the citronella for the smell, and if your finding it hard to breath after a burn with Kero, but the burn won't be as big or as hot... and it may take abit longer to light.
It might be a good idea to contact a company called " Juggleart" for a fuel which is called "Fire Water", this is an Australian Melbourne based company. Fire Water gives off min. smoke and bad fumes. As for the Cathedral wicked poi, Hop has a set of this in " New Items"...
