Let's hear how y'all lost your fire virginity and what it felt like.
For me I spun for the first time in my garden and the feeling was: "WHAT A RUSH", the soaring of the flames around you is fantastic. I was hyped up all evening, it was great.

i cant answer that question coz i havent done it hehe but also what was the feelin before doin it,were you all real scared? coz im gonna be sooo scared..more scared than i am of the dentist!!!

thought it was about time I did fire poi so last Friday I ordered some kevlar. Arrived saturday morning, made the poi that day and did it that night
I think I enjoyed the first time I did fire juggling more, probably just due to the fact it was the first time I'd delt with fire. It was still a massive rush and can't wait to do it again

some gurl at my school gave fire spinning a bad name during a show, she spun fire with bout 10 inch long chains and had no idea waht she was doing, ppl are all like [censored]! shes amazing! .... she couldnt bust a weave..

first tyme i ever spun anythin was a randoms fire chains in newquay...obviously couldent bust a weave or anythin cause hadent ever done it b4 but just spinning them by my sides reali fast got me all excited hehe

spinning my new globugs that arrived in the post yesterday is truly lovely

I was maybe a little anxious, but not scared. If you only do the tricks you're sure about and use the "rules" that are set on HOP, then you'll be fine.

cause it had already been doin non-fire for 6 months and had ben dreaming of fire all through this time(bigging it up in my head). But the first time i lit up i found i could do all my tricks but whats the fun of a genocide in the pitch dark when no-one can see the sticks. Thats why im thinkin of attachin wicks to my sticks

First did fire a couple of weeks ago at a small poi meet in cambridge. Had been practising with the fire poi unlit a while first, specially as they weighed a lot more than my practise ones. Made sure the people there knew what I should do to prepare the poi, made sure I wore cotton hoody and denim jeans, and in case of accidents, had the cam (our main river) within running distance, so wasn't too scared. Safety first indeed.
But DUDE! the noise they make, the whole watching the fire spin round thing. Poi (which I love) + Fire (which I love)=my favorite toy. It's just addictive, like farberge say. Now i always want to spin fire (at least at night), my best solo fire spin being in front of a big plate glass window in front of a cinema in central london so I could watch myself. Always happy to spin with anything, especialy in good weather!

But then they gave me the fire poi, lit me and I just went for it. I also got some amazing photos of it (courtesy of my girlfriend) which I've had printed and framed up. It was an amazing experience. The noise, the heat (White spirit mixed with barbecue lighter is still the fuel of choice), the lack or bodily hair from wraps (hm, that sounds worse than it needs to)... beautiful. An amazing experience, which I've repeated many times since.
Later that evening I did another burn, but in a far more wasted state. I set my hair on fire. Let that be a lesson to all you virgins!

I met so many great spinners out there and saw some absolutely mind blowing moves. I am totally hooked on fire now and itching to learn more.

ooo Yay fist time was with a fire staff with a DAVE that lives in Arcksden near saffron walden the sound was awesom.. i had wanted to do it before anyway ..but once i had done it i was hooked ....If anyone knows Dave PM me it would be nice to hear from him

My first time was by this canal near my home. like angel phoenix, i had my friend know what to do if anything happened. there was a bottle of water and i had a scarf over my head (at least if there was any accidents, i'd be able to go to school. =P)
the adrenaline rush was incredible!! the swishing of the poi by your head. just reminds you that it's there even though you are trying to focus on just your hands. i was telling myself just think of your hands but it was hard. everytime it swished by, it was like, "I'm playing with fire!!"
but it was real awesome. Faberge, i couldn't have put it better. sex, chocolate, viagra AND poi. =P

My first timer with poi was 2 years later, after a fireshow I did where I saw this lady doing things with fire I'd dreamed of for years indead.
Half an hour later it was me swinging the poi.
The sound of Poi indead is a turn on as is the sight..

A bunch of folks get together from time to time at this beach in El Segundo and spin and whatnot. They call these little gatherings Moon Tribe - good people

first time i "burned" is nearly a year ago. a friend showed me but i could only do about three moves. i tried to do angel wings (which i hadnt practised) and the poi tangled around my head and burned of my eyebrows. scary but good learning.

The first time i played with fire there was a group of us at my friends house. My boyfriend let us play with his fire stuffs. He was the only one out of all of us that had done it previously so he was showing us what to do hehe.

the first time i played with fire was in an event here in my town called Cumbre Tajin, i used to play with glowstick, and some guys from germany start glowsticking with me, and then they started to play with fire, and i gave it a try, it was so cool

well b4 losing my virginity i wasn't that scared, but when i did it for the first time i was scared coz of the noise of the fire spinning

heh heh, i lost mine at an actual fire show... where i was doing fire. it was pretty cool but the chains were really short so i nearly burned myself. and the B@stards got it on the tv camera. a reverse ttn tangled around my arms and burned all the hair off them

It was great!!!
I was really surprised how loud the sound was when i started swinging. I was also suprised when i hit myself on the head. luckily i was unhurt and lived to play around some more. for all of you who have not yet fire poied, get out there and do it! its great.
