hey, is there anyone on HOP who is currently or shortly will be living in holland? just moved back home and i havent found the spinning community yet
spinning on my own is fun, but, ya know, i gotsta find some, umm, colleagues (?).. identify yourselves! im lonely

I'm going to move after my birthday celebration of two days
So i'll probably won't be there... Allready have to do some extra dancing practise as well in the evenings because i'm asked to dance on an Afgan wedding which is quit an honor, considering that a bellydancer is traditional on middle eastern weddings.
2nd of April i won't be there either, damn...

wow! i leave for two days and there are four new meets planned.. and without consulting me??
so correct me if im wrong
sat 12th: no go.. im in wassenaar spending time with my parents
wed 16th: if its in utrecht ill certainly be there.. i have class early the next morning
fri 28th: still up in the air.
sat 2nd: no go.. theres an anti-prom party here on campus that i definitely dont wanna miss.. btw, everyone is invited to come spin there.. there will be free alcohol (until it runs out) and a bonfire.. and grass (as in the ground :P) to spin on..

well, ehrm, I'm keeping wisely out of this thing... last foreign visit I was supposed to be the guide, got all worked up, made some shiny blue flags to play in the snow with, got my bag loaded with all my gear and went to pick up the guest to take to Utrecht.
I found the guest, but we never made it to Utrecht because of some miscommunication between guest and some unnamed utrecht host, and to top everything off: I lost my favourite necklace that my dad had made for my mom in the 60s that day...
or maybe it's because I won't be there!!!!!
if everything goes right, and the prices drop on the last day like I expect them to, I will be on my way to sunny mexico this sunday...
Gayle: to get to Utrecht from amsterdam is real easy. there are trains leaving about every 10 minutes from the central station. a return ticket will cost you 11,40 euro. in the main hall of the Utrecht station is a big Burger King, where we tend to meet up. if you have time and are bored with amsterdam (not very likely) you might wanna go early to utrecht because it's lovely to see: it even has some special canals in a different style to those in amsterdam.
if you need any tips on what to do in amsterdam, let me know: I am the uber-resident here...

anyhow, I got this burning question (but forgot to ask earlier)... those sock-poi some of you guys were using last saturday at motsplace (striped socks)... were can I buy those socks? i cant find socks that long anywhere :S

My girlfriend (Mying) and I will probably be in Rotterdam between now and a few weeks, probably on a saturday. We're going to the museum (Boymans van Beuningen (ofzo)) to an expo on Dali...maybe we can meet a few other poi-spinners somewhere around there ?

And for an encore, when the hell is friday the 28th? Are we talking about good friday (25th), easter monday (28th) or are we talking more than two months from now? I'm available both days, and I'm dying to spin.

Moondance: meh, i can't make it to Ruigoord either, must study and missing an entire night's sleep isn't good for studying prospects the next day, either :-( But have a fantastic birthday celebration!!
Next Wednesday: how about we meet in front of the Burger King at 3? Gayle & man: Urtecht really is a lovely place just to have a wander around and I'm happy to escort you if you want to come earlier to admire it :-) We also lay claim to Holland's oldest coffee shop (so does another town, but they're liars, liars I tell you!!) if you want to see a place of historical interest.
As to getting back to Amsterdam: there's normal trains that will get you there in half an hour 4 times per hour until about midnight, and after that there's trains every hour, but I think they take a lot longer - either way you won't get stuck here!

Gayle & man: Urtecht really is a lovely place just to have a wander around and I'm happy to escort you if you want to come earlier to admire it :-) We also lay claim to Holland's oldest coffee shop (so does another town, but they're liars, liars I tell you!!
) if you want to see a place of historical interest. As to getting back to Amsterdam: there's normal trains that will get you there in half an hour 4 times per hour until about midnight, and after that there's trains every hour, but I think they take a lot longer - either way you won't get stuck here!
