Posted: anyone used a mask for playing with fire? like a surgical or innercitycyclist mask?
cause i am desperate to play with fire again; to the point where i have had to leave fire gatherings because i can't stand not playing , and i thought (with the help of mr moseph and jase) that this might be a viable way forward.
anyway. there'll be a test tonight of one type of surgical. and maybe 1 bike one. and i'll let you'se know R

Sorry.
Rob, can you tell me how this goes as I know i dont really like breathing in all the fumes...
the mask worked well: still felt a little iffy. but that was at least in part because i took the mask off between plays. when i started using it nonstop i felt no further effects. leading me to believe the fumes around from unlit toys and paraffin are just as bad as burning toys(not that i didn't know this already, just that its one of those things you don't think about)
also: i used a surgical mask. theses are NOT designed for aerobic leaping around. so my next test is a bike mask; which is so designed.
so in conclusion. a surgical mask is waaaaaay better than nothing. and at worst i will ba able to play with fire again with one of those.
and at best its back to business as usual but with an interesting 'look'
masks come fully recommended by this feline

"Oh [censored], the redmen are coming down the hill. I will ring you back. Click."
Did they tie you up and ravage you?
I hope not...

I spunked in my friend's aquarium and the fish ate it. I love all fish. Especially the pink ones. They are my bitches. - Anon.
They make nice masks for biking, motorcycling and people with all sorts of allergies. They have some cool looking, well designed masks as reasonable prices. They don't make you look like you have SARS, and are meant for active use, so they have nice neoprene straps and good attachments, and have good air flow, unlike a lot of serious gas masks which can be hard to use while breathing heavily.
If you try one, make sure its one that is meant for filtering fumes such as diesel and gasoline fumes. If its a 'dust mask' meant only for particulates then it will do no good for fire spinning.
