*nudges the court bugle-type-thingy player-person (to give him his official title). Then enters the thread looking jubilant to the strains of a generally spluttery and, quite frankly, piss-poor attempt at a fanfare*

...that's the last time I hire someone who advertises his services by wrapping a poster round a brick and throwing it through people's windows....

So, here it is at last. My ten thousandth post. And, out of the goodness of my heart (and not becuase i was asked to at all - honest rolleyes ) I've decided that it should be used to resurrect Miss Polythene's intro...

So in lieu of anything clever, witty or even particularly interesting I have decided to lay on the following entertainment:

*dashes out and comes back with dazed looking walrus dressed in an inordinately small leotard and a pair of moose antlers taped to it's head. Leans a unicycle against the walrus and stands back expectantly*

Not in the mood for unicycling eh Winston? Right, hold on.

*fetches 10 juggling clubs. Throws them one by one to Winston. Watches dejectly as each one bounces off his head. Keeps going regardless

Catch and juggle them Winston! Catch and juggle. Just like in rehearsals....

O...kay.... ubbidea

*wanders off again. Comes back with a big hoop. Sets it a light and holds it aloft. Waits.*

*Waits a bit longer*

*still waiting*

Psst Winston.....

Oh crap, he's gone to sleep.

Well this has been a rubbish post redface I'm sorry that the entertainment was less than entertaining. I'll try to arrange something better for my 20,000th post.

Honest.

or better still (and, happily, advert free):

Dairy-free Chocolate Chip Cake
1 cup unsalted acceptable margarine
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
or 1 cup white sugar and 2 tablespoons light molasses
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water and 3/4 cup rice milk
or 1 1/2 cups water
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
12 ounces acceptable chocolate chips

Note: If you use salted margarine, omit the salt.

In a mixing bowl, beat margarine until soft. Add flour, white sugar, brown sugar (or 1
cup more white sugar and molasses), baking powder, and salt. Mix with a spoon. Add
the water and/or milk, vanilla, and eggs. Beat on low until combined. Beat on high for
about 2 minutes. Add chocolate chips and mix. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13
inch pan. Bake in a 400 degree F. oven (375 if your oven is hotter) for 30 to 35 minutes
or until wooden toothpick comes clean. Let cool. Serve.

Note: If you are not on a dairy-free diet, you can use regular milk instead of water,
use salted butter or margarine, and add no salt to this recipe.

Chocolate Chip Swirl Cake
Follow the above recipe, except melt the chocolate chips (you might want to reduce the
chocolate chips to 6 ounces), swirl it in the cake batter with a rubber spatula after it is
placed in the cake pan.
