i thought id better update my intro because i didnt like the old one that much.



my name is oli, ive been a member of these boards for about 2 years now, which is a scarily long time.

during this time ive developed some sort of fascination with socks and what happens when you spin them in circles.

im a student with varied intrests including maths, music, reading, traveling, dancing, playing and having fun.



i think the most important thing in life is to be playful even if it means you are like ubbloco ubbloco the whole time.



i love tea and almost all foods except hienz tomatoe ketchup.



i cant spell very well and my understanding of how to write long meaningful sentances is weak.



i have met very many other users of this board over the ;ast couple of years and hug to you all weavesmiley

WHAT? don't look so shocked! eek I baked two cakes the other day and they were both very good indeed, so good that I've decided to take it up as a hobby. What do you think?

the best cake is my mums corgette cake.

its got little green bits in it smile which is endlessly amusing. it tastes a bit like carrot cake...

its reallly nice. honest, i know it sounds strange, on the whole im finding these days anything with corgettes in cant be bad, they are the wonder vegetables. theres alot growing in our garden too.

courgette cake:



8oz caster sugar

6oz soft brown sugar

12oz plain flour

2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 tsp baking powder

1 tbp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1 tsp salt

200 ml sunflower or sorn oil

1 tbsp vanilla essence

3 eggs

8 oz courgettes, grated

7 oz raisins

3 1/2 oz chopped walnuts

1 tbsp grated orange rind



sieve the first nine ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well. pour in the oil, add vanilla essence and break in the eggs. beat until well blended. stir in the remaining ingredients. pour into a 13 x9 in cake tin. bake for 5 to 5 minuts at 180 degC/350F/gas mark 4. cool on the tin on a wire rack.



and my mum then says she puts carrot cake icing on it. but thats not in the recipe. wink

We have thousands of courgettes growing! Seems every night we have courgettes, stuffed courgette, baked, fried, chopped in salad, and now in cake ubblove
