Just about every aspect of American politics seems odd or wrong to me. In the UK if an opposition leader really messed up an election and lost he'd have to resign, otherwise they'd carry on. But Gore did a great job and only lost through nepotism, so surely it's logical for him to keep fighting Bush and stand again.

I think Gore wised up after that last election debacle and decided he didn't want to be president after all.
Seriously though, I respect his decision to not run again and the reasons why.
