Posted: I love doing glowsticks, and i have put all effort i could to learn all of the moves i found on this website. Well, i learned like 90% of these. However, when i look at the video's from the website or the real life pictures of people spinning glowsticks they don't look anything like what i do. Lets put it this way, if i know all the moves what is the next step to make my spinning look good. ..........................................,..

Posted: Transitions, body movement, fluidity. The moves themselves are great but to add teh element of body motion and smooth transitions gives it that fluid look. It takes practice and a certain amount of comfort, also a detachment from the techinicalities. If you are thinking that you should be moving your hand here and up then you aren't letting go and just enjoying, which is what most people on the videos and at raves do. They "feel" it more than they "do" it I think. ------------------Pele Higher, higher burning fire...making music like a choir...

Posted: You might try adding some footwork, if you're spinning to music (like i usually do with glowsticks) dancing makes it look a lot better.

Posted: that was the natural progression for me, adding more movement into my spinning.i did the glowsticks because i couldnt even stomp very well, and for the first couple months, while spinning, i was ver stationary.but as of a few weeks ago, i am starting to feel the poi spin around me as i turn my body, and move around. I tend to extend my arms and lean forwards and backwards as i turn inand out of weaves and stuff.I know it sounds cheesey, but now when i spin, i feel more at one with them, and we (the poi and I) are travelling to gether like they are extensions of my body, instead of me just spinning some strings around. When this happens, you will start to understand how different moves blend into one another, and the continuous motion will be the result of it..i do think that the practice POI helped me with this tremendously. They were hella-awkward when i first picked them up and spun them because they were heavier, and the streamers were fucking with me too much. Before that i only spun with some raggeddy shoe laces, and glowsticks. Now i love the practice POI, only after a couple of weeks. I think they have made my movements more "fluid", plus my sticks have bumped up a notch as well. Its hard to explain the feeling, but i would advse either buying some, or making some. Its well worth it.Super'------------------"Only the warrior that hears the call will know when to leave, Where to go" -unknown
