The socks are very soft and feel nice as you spin them. You can also connect the poi base to colcord cords. They also come with two extra packs of 8 batteries. "Even a Grandmother like myself can enjoy twirling a set of glowing poi balls in socks! As a kid I twirled baton so this comes naturally to me! I started with an inexpensive set in the rainbow colour and I LOVE THEM! My friends are amazed at how good I am already! My Grandkids want some of their own after watching me!(but all in good time!) It is not difficult and so much fun! Great for entertaining children and adding some excitement to a dance party! I attend techno dance parties once a month since I do not live in a big city. There is always that 'break from dancing' time to recharge my energy and I spin my Poi during this time! It is also great exercise for my arms wrists and shoulders! Last Christmas I had a set of Poi sent to my son in B.C. for music festivals! He and his girlfriend love them also!"
