I have been spinning for about 7 years and was doing some different stacks and started thinking. Can butterflies actually be split time?

It seems to me that they are always same time (even when definitely splitting the timing in terms of where the poi heads are in relation to each other at a given moment) because the poi heads will cross (assuming you keep your beats congruent) at the same point during split or same time weaves.

What I am saying is, your average spinner will weave a butterfly same-time during which the poi heads cross at the tops and bottoms of the imaginary circle being spun.

If you split the timing, or attempt to, the poi heads cross at the sides of the imaginary circle.

Wouldn't that technically still be same time, or am I missing something fundamental?
