Hello, hello and welcome to the all-new, shiny thread for fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts anywhere in Ireland.

Our community started coming together a few years ago, and it's grown to include people from all over the country...

If you are new to poi or staff or spinning stuff and want to meet up with any of the Irish spinners, please post in this thread, introduce yourself and feel free to come along to the workshops, gatherings or events that get talked about.

Also, if you'd like to be on my mailing list for fire gatherings and other juggling events, please PM me your email address and I'll add it. The fire gathering takes place fortnightly in Belfast, but it's one way to keep in touch with everyone.

So welcome, and hope to see you soon wave

Haven't spun in a long time though, so going to be uber-unco-ordinated.

And for Squid, who mentioned it ages ago - here's the Dublin Circus Festival lineup. Looking forward to seeing Mr Toons again - such a nice bloke, and still makes me laugh every time. In fact I just watched him on the Late Late show again on Youtube, and it cheered up my rainy day smile

Hi Pamela... welcomes and hellos smile

There's loads of people in Dublin spinning... but they usually meet through one of the many juggling clubs happening in the universities (open to everyone) and the occasional fire jam...

Have a look at the opening page of this thread (but the clubs might be suspended til the new term), or have a look at www.emeraldcircus.com. No doubt someone will be along soon smile

Let me know if you're ever up in Belfast too - I hold poi classes and fire gatherings every fortnight smile

Best wishes, happy spinning

Hi Folks,

Just joined up there, another Belfast local!

Complete Beginner here, only just started playing in the last few weeks and I have ordered my 1st poi today.

Just thought some of you might like to know that some guys I know have a small fire session in the Carpark off Tomb Street on a Tuesday night.

There's a modified car meet there every week, and through that I've gotten interested in Poi.

Here are some Pics from Tuesday past smile Hope its Ok posting these here!!!

Niall.

Aw wow! grin Loads of people in one place. Woo!

I was thinking of setting up a casual practice group for irish fire twirlers, is anyone interested? The general idea would be to try and get a few people together and teach each other some new things. I guess this thread is kind of doing it already, is it?

Either way, please get in touch, I just want to meet up with other twirlers in Ireland.
