Or have you got clones? A clone army of Georges....

Although to be fair, he's only got two personalities - the one where he's nice, and the one he uses when he posts in my thread tongue2

All this talk of popcorn makes me think that we should restart the 80s movie night that was going on in my thread about, um, 200 pages back!

Labyrinth, anyone? grin

"Stranger"

there you are - that didn't take too long now did it? grin tongue2

Labyrinth - ooh yes - David Bowie being all elvish and mysterious & the fire sprite dudes who kept losing their heads... bounce2 bounce2 Much better than Dark Crystal and what was that other one in a similar vein .... oh yes - Willow.

80's movies - that would be the likes of STTMP (Spock & Kirk finding out about V'ger), Star Wars V & VI (even though they were 2 & 3). The Ewoks movie was pretty good (showing my child-like innocence now!)

But my memory is failing me so here's one reference list:
https://www.fast-rewind.com/Browse.htm
and my pick from the list:
A Fish Called Wanda, Alien (& 2, 3 & 4), An Officer and a Gentleman (but only 'cos the title's about me grin !!), Blade Runner, Big, Blues Brothers, Body Double (or Body Heat when I saw it), Commando (a good bit of mindless Arnie!), Die Hard (yay Bruce baby!), E.T. (of course), Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Highlander, Porkies (was funny at the time!), Predator, The Quiet Earth (probably only cos it was filmed in NZ though!), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Running Man, Short Circuit (how can you not love a robot like that?!), Sudden Impact ("Go ahead, make my day" - classic Clint!), The Terminator, Top Gun (I have a love-hate relationship with), but Top Secret like the Airplane series was a classic, & Toxic Avenger seemed pretty hilarious when I saw that (but could have been due to the quantities of alcohol consumed), Tron was state of the art stuff back then(!), Weekend at Bernies was funny first time around, Who Framed Roger Rabbit should never go out of fashion, Xanadu (but only for ONJ on roller skates!).

Oh and I know it doesn't count as 80's but it was darn close - "The Never Dead" (or "Phantasm" as it later became known) was a goody - scared the crap outta me at the time - silver balls whizzing round drilling out your head! That and "Patrick" about the same time...

Not usually my cup of tea but fairly classic frighters from 79-ish.

Ooh, I've never actually seen The Last Unicorn, but my Romanian mates talked about it a lot - deal!

And Aston, I have Roger Rabbit too! That can be number three!

And Georgie, since you brought up Tron - they were making a new version of it, know if they ever did? I missed a lot in the land of movies when I was in Vanuatu! I'm still finding out stuff that came out while I was away!

and what about including classic TV series from the era - such as Blackadder, Fawlty Towers (although probably <80's), Allo Allo . . .

Re Tron II - I know nutheeeng... Sorry to disappoint there but that would probably be a bit B grade after the likes of Avatar these days! Even some of the ones on my list are a bit B gradey in hindsight (but fun at the time)!

The Roger Rabbit final scene with Porky Pig discovering his "ttthat's all folk's" line was funny! And the lovely lady (Jessica was it?) "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way"!! and Roger's plaintive "pa-pa-pa-please?" and the Acme portable hole's - very practical - I've wanted one ever since!

"I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way" is one of my favourite movie quotes ever! I've always wanted to go to a fancy dress party as Jessica Rabbit tongue2

And I LOVE Blackadder! Never got into Fawlty Towers though, and I'd never even heard of Allo Allo until recently.

Oh, and a Tron movie B-Grade? It wouldn't be a Tron unless it wasn't wink

Allo Allo is awesome.

There is nothing wrong with b-grade movies in the correct company. And enough popcorn to throw.

We have the Blackadder box set but I have not been able to find the Christmas special where Baldrick ends up ruling the universe with a giant posing pouch.

Rougie you have to get hold of Fawlty Towers and watch all episodes religously. It is compulsory viewing.

The beating the car bit is fairly representative but each episode is packed with fine examples like this.

But the real star is Manuel - his difficulties with the english language ("I am from Barcelona") make for some interesting situations

"You know nothing"

("I speeek Eengleesh very well - I learnt eet from a booook")

and Basil's insensitivities - "the Germans" is a really good example of this!

And how could you not laugh at Allo Allo:
