Posted: I am inspired more than I am blown away by this. Nuclear tests actually decreased over time, although more countries added nuclear weapons to their arsenals.
In my opinion, once we can get past nuclear weapons and can be trusted not to use them on one another, we all win.
In an age when there is missile defence shields, anti-radiation meds, better focus on environmental impact and a greater concern for cooperation, a nuclear weapon free future seems just within reach.

Posted: I was "blown away" by the sheer number of nuclear "tests", where the "nuclear nations" performed them, that France did 210 tests (the question for which reason remains unanswered), and basically over the fact that this planet has been bombarded 2053 times (talking about "natural radiation" here)... of course many (if not most) of these "tests" have been underground.
However, no "nuclear arms tests" find justification in the Western world these days. India and Pak are on restraints of US and China...
I figure that most of theses "tests" were only to flex political muscles... but nothing more than irresponsibilities of old men who had a hard time performing their duties elsewhere.
RC - "a nuclear weapon free future seems just within reach"... maybe not within our lifetime.
