Greetings to one and all. I’ve been lurking on HoP without posting long enough, figured I’d say howdy. Recently got into poi after finding myself relocated to Kansas and unable to engage in my usual hobbies, which generally required access to mountains or outdoors. Not desiring to take part in the Kansas state sport (watching football on TV), I elected to try something completely different – and promptly fell in love with poi. Now then, on to the gory details:
Name: Kelli B.
Location: Wichita, Kansas (god help me…)
Hometown: Bend, Oregon
Birthday (sign?): Gemini
Age: 31
Sex: Female
Occupation(s): Aircraft Engineer
Toys: Mainly poi and fire poi, although I’ve recently begun dabbling with contact juggling, too (and my furniture doesn’t thank me)
Hobbies other than the obvious: Paragliding and urban dog mushing
Education: Grad school
Favorite Book(s): So many wonderful stories, I can’t begin to pick a favorite. Preferences run strongly in the fantasy and sci fi direction.
Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? Neither. The two clods bash away at each other until their mutual destruction is achieved and the Ewoks inherit the earth.
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) Tried and discarded a dozen different majors before I started flying airplanes and got tangled up in aviation. I do not yet consider myself grown up though, so I reserve the right to change my mind and pursue a career as a concert cellist, theoretical physicist, or poi swingin’ beach bum without notice. Life’s twisty, I’m just here to enjoy the roller coaster.
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: World beat, dance, pop, jazz, classical, I like it all.
Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?* Definitely Nutella. Without it I would have starved in Russia.

Welcome from a fellow Gemini. It's good to see more Kansas people on the boards, Nutella is always the right answer but you have to watch out for squirrels.
If you feel like venturing out of Wichita to Lawrence you should head over there on the 20th and 21st of August for the Lawrence Busker Festival
(www.lawrencebuskerfest.com) I'll be spinning poi and staff both nights with my troupe Ra Element. There will be a few other troupes of Aerialists and Belly-dancers as well as some other Jugglers from the KC area there.

G4dget - I'll be sure to get up to Lawrence in August and see your troupe perform. I'm embarrassed to admit, I have never seen anyone spin in person - it'll be a nice change from YouTube
