true that, the star destroyer is like a giant poi head in the sky. And when luke blew it up, it was allowed to shine briefly as a fire poi. honestly those that choose Godzilla to destroy the biggest poi ever really show their true nature.

hey seaspray, I thought the poem was

As I was going up the stair
I saw a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away...

When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn’t see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don’t you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don’t slam the door... (slam!)

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
I wish, I wish he’d go away.

oh, and also Welcome ss13!!!!

heh, I can count the number of poems I can reliably quote off of one hand.

In this case I think I never encountered the full poem, or if I did I was about a 1/3 of my current height when I did tongue2

I just remember the poem being creepy wordplay

OMG! I know that poem Wood! And yeah... that "poi" analogy/metaphor -- whichever it technically is lol--is exactly what I was thinking... Plus, I just don't like monkeys... and the star destroyer... it was just bad arse. XD lol
Sea: There most definitely is. I used to help DJ raves--thus the "poi" interest starting (funny: I got a friend involved n she started when I stopped... then got me re-involved! ^ . ^ smile. I was young at the time... thus earning me the name "DJ"--first guy I worked with was amazed. I thought I did kinda crappy. O,o lol ...but whatever the case... it just stuck through time as my online alias... (that and Spitfire) o.o ...although, in life, I don't really hang around the people that used to refer to me as such anymore... but then, I don't hang around many people anymore. frown
which leads me to...

Im not really sure what you mean, most places on the first vid is right, its not like there is a horde of people sitting behind the camera waiting for the shoot to end so they can go on their way. But again, I spend a lot of time out and around, so its not like noone is there.

I know people who live on cattle stations where you have to drive for a few days before they get to their neigbours, but atm im staying in a capital city where all I have to do is put my arm through the wall next to me to pat my neighbour on the head. SO it depends on where exactly you mean.

When you ditch Alaska, Australia is roughly the same size as USA, but we only have 21mill population when compared to the like 300mill that USA has, so that would mean that it is not as populated as you would be accustomed to. However our population is like 99% situated along the coastline and in particular only in like 9 areas along the coast (around major cities) so its buisy as all hell in the city when compared to the 1% that live inland.

Arapiles, the place I mentioned at 0.15, has around 50 people staying their during spring ( a lot of them are school groups) and Easter sees the people camping swell to around 300. But other times there may only be like 7 people. Another place I climb at regulalrywhich is just as spectacular - if there is 7 people there its crowed, usually its just you and your partner for miles in any direction. But you do get the tour helicopters that fly in real close to give their wealthy but lazy clients some real life thrillseeking! and to scare the living begeebeers out out of you while your like dangling 300metres above the ground. Which is NOT funny.

Im not sure if this answer helped, I tried to make it as complicated as I could.

As someone who graduated from one, I can safely say that American secondary schooling is pretty worthless. Dropping out is pretty much the only sane response to a constant tedium effectively designed to make stupider those who don't manage to realize in time what a sham it is.

And fwiw, I have a BA and work in a grocery store, so it's not like five years and $50,000 put me that far ahead of the game.

Haha... Wood, it answered it perfectly. I wanna get the hell out of this overly populated area and live somewhere where I can actually breathe, if that makes sense. lol
And Sister, thank you for stating--well--a point I have tried so hard to explain to all my friends who are wasting away in college attempting to get ahead, all the while, looking down on me for dropping out and not pursuing any form of schooling at the moment. It is, in fact, a sham, and it's never about what you know, but WHO you know. wink Especially with the economic crisis we've been settling into. XD
And thanks again to all who have welcomed me. smile

In godzilla's defense, he breathes fire constantly and can catch just about anything on fire for large pretty bonfires where star destroyers only blow things up and let them shine rather briefly... so in a sense, godzilla makes worlds into big, long burning balls of poi where star destroyers makes em pretty for a lil while.

gee. THanks for informing me that the last 2 years and future 2 more are a waste of time and $50,000 frown I have it all wrong. Now I realise I should have stayed at work instead of moving 1000 km and deliberatly living underneath the poverty line. fancy thinking education was going to better myself; silly me. Haha... don't off yourself Wood... I'm not saying it's pointless... Just not for everyone. It doesn't make a person better or worse...
Around where I live, I'm a loser because I haven't gone to school and because I decide to make money instead of wasting on a life path I either a) probably will change my mind about in the future, or b) probably won't make as much money as I do now with. XD
It's not so much a matter of whether education helps or not... but really, it's who you know--where you are. Right place, right time kind of thing. Plus, you're not schooling in the US, where the economy is collapsing by the day. For instance: I came here the other day to buy some flow lights, and they were $150 and some odd cents for all of them... Just 24 hours later, I come back to obsess over what I can't yet afford, and already they're about $5 more expensive. Doesn't seem like too much of a jump, sure, but... really, imagine what'll happen to the value of our dollar after just another week. Sure, could be inflation... what goes up must come down... but question is: when.
So yeah... I think I'd rather save money than "waste" it on something that could essentially fail in the next few years. Who knows if our government will even be there in 4 years... I hope it is--to a degree--but whether it is or not, it's still almost insignificant at this point as to whether or not you went to college. It helps you, but barely, in finding work... other than that, it is, essentially, a waste in money for those of us (like myself) who aren't even sure what we would like to choose as a lifelong career.
*sigh* I ramble... but ANYWHO... my point is it's not right or wrong, good or bad... I'm just saying it doesn't make someone a no one for choosing not to go. smirk

I know, I was just stirring.

To be honest, I left a management job in the Outdoor industry to study Outdoor education. When I finish my degree, I will be underqualified for the job that I left (not including my experience) So this degree is not going to land me my dream job; I left my dream job to study! But Im learning things about my industry that I never had the time to look at whilst working so Im very happy with my decision.

also, In Australia we pay for Uni through a thing called Hecs; which is essentially a govt loan with no interest that I only have to pay off, through my tax return (a bit more complicated than that) IF I earn over a certain amount each year. SO If I earn under $35k a year I dont have to pay it back EVER, or if I go overseas I dont have to pay it back! (My children would have to when I die - but Ill be dead so it wouldnt matter to me)
