Somewhere in the world, anyhow smile

I'm Jeremy, aka "Playb0y", a early 20's Hypnotherapist/Raver/Romancer from Toronto. And by "Romancer", a mix tape of Bryan Adams with candles and wine is not what I have in mind wink

Welcome to the boards! I hope you survive long enough to greatly enjoy poi/staff or whatever toy that brings you here!

Thank you Natures Son smile

Glowsticking, with poi being the obvious inspiration for much of the "art" form.

Is there any difference between poi and glowsticking apart from the choice of prop?

There appears to be a different style, but is that anything more than a different style of the same movement set, driven by different learning communities?

Or is it because you're able to transition into freehand stuff?

M_N_S...i mean i know that question was to him but i could probably go ahead and give my opinion on it.

i think that there is a definite defined style of glowsticking, which is very different from that of throwing poi. a lot more pops and a lot more wraps with sticks is generally how i would put it...and your right then of course the ability to go into freehand stuff.

Yeah, I know theres a definite style, but I was just wondering what his particular view on the connectedness of poi and glowsticking.

I'm not so convinced theres really any boundary at all except for which forum you go to and what you've decided to use as a prop, lighter weight vs heavier weight, really.

yeah i mean i guess i would have to agree on that as well, and i mean obviously if you can throw poi chances are very good you can pick up some sticks and you can throw those as well.

heres a question for the cause....which do you prefer? i know myself i prefer the weight of poi...however i REALLY like things that glow...so my #1 preference is some really sweet glow poi.

I'd never heard it either and I see no real issue with it, except how do you talk about actually quite literally letting go of the poi and then catching them again?
