I just made some sexy new sock poi and as I'm quite pleased, I thought I'd tell you all about them.
I made up four bags of rice at 80g each and then tied off some long socks I brought at the ankle before putting anything in them (I was expecting to cut this off as they're too long for indoors). I stuck the bags in and tied a knot at the top to keep everything in and started spinning them as double ended poi. Anyways after a few throws, I grabbed the flappy foot part that was empty and the bag that would've been my handle slid down to the end and made uber slow heavy long poi. I can change between the two configurations just by catching the right bit of th poi and making the bags slide around.
Was that clear? I should really try to take some photos.

Danny from Guildford made a similar design pair of poi - equal weighs in each end, with a piece of rope/string connecting the two and with a sliding weight attached to this - so whichever end you catch, the weight slides down to the end - great for throws
