Hi all,

I haven't posted on here for ages, but as i just got a new staff I thought I would make a video of it. Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated, as I'm a noob, and I have nobody to teach me or to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

cheers!

i'm not sure if it's just bad video quality or your using a very dim burning fuel. try coleman fuel they sell a galon of it for about five bucks at walmart.

some ambient lighting in the beginning would help viewers see the spinner as well as the lights from the wicks.

I understand the feeling of having no one around to evaluate my spinning, so I'll try to be positive, but honest.

1st thing: pay attention to where your feet are planted and where the camera is. Half the time you are spinning you are positioned in a way that we cant see the circle patterns. Try to think about your planes a bit more.

2nd: do more with your arms. Extend with the arm that is holding the staff for that truly dramatic look. Best advice I ever heard was from MCP, when she pointed out how many people hold their passive hand up to their side with the hand all limp, aka: dinosaur arm. For Meg's sake, break that habit. It does wonders for your overall appearance.

and finally: start looking into some contact moves. You don't need a full set of moves, but it adds that WOW factor when you are spinning to just bust out an angel roll or a full jesus out of nowhere.

Keep working on the staff and have fun with it. smile

I found it good and enjoyable.

I agree with squid on the lighting and the feet positioning. But other then that I really enjoyed it

Keep up the good work grin

(When the colors started too change, I got so scared I forgot it was most likely a video effect)

Haha thanks for the responses,

Im not sure that I can do much about the lighting (my camera is old and lame), but i'll work on the footwork and incorporating some contact into my spinning. ^_^

The lighting idea is that you have another light on you.

That way see the spinner and the flames. You can see examples all over youtube of what we mean. smile
