October 12th 2006 Cory Lidle was involved in a plane crash that took his life as well as his instructors.
I bet most of you have already heard about this, but i tought about making a tribute-like thread for him.

It was a bit of a nerve-rattling day to be in New York.

About 2:30 I got three texts from various people asking if I was OK. I was all "WTF?" and then I looked at cnn.com.

Yup. Hellish day getting home in traffic.
Sad that everyone seems to have gotten caught up with the fact that he was a Yankee rather than that fact that two people died. There's been more talk about him violating his baseball contract than by the fact that a plane hit a building.

And another strangeness. The lady who's apartment was hit was the same lady who was put in a coma by a Thanksgiving day float hitting a lamp post a few years ago.
