Does anybody know of any decent, free, screen recorder software? Preferably one where you can capture a selected area of the screen.
If you know any good ones that arent free but there maybe be cracked versions of floating around, feel free to post those up too

not sure if this is what you mean, but if you're using firefox you can get a plug in that allows you to capture a selected area of the screen, you can get it here .
alternatively just take a normal screenhot & cut it up in paint

fraps might do it, but the unregistered version only gives you a 30 sec recording, and i think it's only full screen. might be worth a try, thohugh.
