Dangerous task. Be careful of that. You should keep some shiny things on you at all times to distract them if necessary! ubblol

Yes, tranquil......hmmmm. I believe another word for where I live is boring. It's pretty and all, but there's nothing to do, unless you like golf. I do like cold beaches though, and this summer it's been really warm (suprised me too!), so I've had loads of time on a hot beach (woohoo!). Other than that, I just spend my time walking my dog and scrounging food from my parents (they always have more in the fridge than I do!)

Cool, I'm going to try and join Inverness library this week, and see if I can find that book. biggrin How is everyone today? Anyone for a smoothie? I made orange, strawberry and kiwi. (yummy) hug hug

Lots of silver jewelry!...My pentacle included.

Silver is very protective, ergo it's use in movies against all manner of scary monsters!

Even a cold beach is great for meditation.

Water's quality is feminine and helps us to connect with our powers of intuition and controls our emotions (among many other things.)

Aren't librarys great? Hope yours is more progressive than ours and will actually carry books on paganism! (Small town in southern Baptist Bible belt. Not conducive to pagan study!)

I'll have to take a raincheck on the smoothie. Still working on my morning coffee. Still only 8:19 am where I'm at.

Ooh - good morning! Yup, up here there's no real prevalent religion, maybe church of scotland, which is non-denominational, so pretty much anything goes. And cause of the rather traumatic history of our country we have loads and loads of stuff on pretty much everything.

I watched a scary programme the other week called "gods next army", about the whole baptist thing in the states and the new "ivy league" university that the Bushes (amongst others) helped to build as training for budding politicians (all home schooled and from VERY religious families). They actually teach creationism as a science! eek I mean, I'm all for teaching folks about both sides of the argument - but not actually teaching evolution at all? Scary what religion will do to folks.

Sorry, that was quite heavy for first thing! Did you have sweet dreams? hug

Oh no, someone mentioned politicians (some of my least favorite people right after Lawyers and guess what most of them are).

Yeah FS, can understand why you would have a hard time finding anything on Paganism down there. You don't get much closer to the Bible Belt and Baptists. Charlotte is the home of PTL Club with Jim Bakker and good old Tammy Faye. Hey, I heard she knew how to do a mean Belly Dance (catch my drift??)

Since you both have the Internet (obviously) try doing a search at Google and other places. The I-Net is the greatest source of information that ever came along. That is how I found out about Poi and Fire Spinning. A Google search sent me to homeofpoi.com and now I am here pestering all of you people hehe wink hehe smile

I have over 2000 books on every possible religion that you could think of.

I'm the Spirit element on the board of the Church of the Earth of NC and am in charge of the church library.

https://cote-nc.org/

I'm Phoenix66 on the site.

There's no problem finding stuff in the bookstores and things are starting to be a little more progressive around here but you can never completely get away from ignorance.

I met a woman who said she was of Irish/Germanic heritage and she was wearing a Celtic symbol; the triquetra.(the symbol seen at the beginning of the TV show 'Charmed')

She had no clue of it's origins or of her own heritage.

I tried to explain to her about ancient trinity symbols but, she didn't seem to care. Her comment was that it meant father/son/holy spirit.

Well that's fine. Religion is a very personal choice but, I believe you should educate yourself and know why you are making that choice.

If you check out the cote site, please do take the time to read the article entitled, 'Pick a Path...'

This was written by my best friend and our church Fire element. He has a very eloquent style and the content could scarcely be improved upon.

jt, Bush thinks he IS 'God.'

Just look what's been done over Daylight Savings Time.

Enough, before I become completely unintelligable.

?'s...comments?

Won't be long before it starts to get colder around here either, although we've been having some rather mild winters in the past few years.

I'm not complaining! I don't like cold weather. Don't have enough meat on my bones to keep me warm!

it`s just so.. so.. cold *brrr*
and snow is the worst of all, it invades everything. no where to sit etc. It`s cold, it`s wet, it`s just nasty.

the only good thing about winter is snowballs, i couldn`t be more happy after a succesful "headshot" with a snowball biggrin

Pete, you need to move to NC. You'd be on cloud nine except for the lack of regular snowball supplies.

We have years when we get really horrible ice storms but mostly we get just a light snow every once in a while.

We had a really bad ice storm in 2001 that almost crippled the whole area. It made me understand the old Native American term of 'The Season of the Popping Trees.'

Ive never experienced anything quite like that before. You could hear the spirit in the trees sound just like they were screaming. The only thing comparable is when a tree is cut down for the timber.

Absolutely horrible!!!
Never want to experience that again!

If you're talking about the COTE site, I check it a few times a day but usually only to see if anyone has questions for me!

Being the Spirit element makes it my responsibility to be the keeper of the spiritual knowlwedge...so...I try to keep it checked out.

Most of the time the Babble box is empty, and the posts on there now are from last week.

Somebody else's job to empty it!
