Hi, I am new to the dark arts of Poi and found your forum from a link on a summer festivals website.

Name: Damon

Location: Brighton

Hometown: Brighton

DOB: 11/7/82

Age: 24

Sex: Not yet, we've only just met

Occupation(s): Poilice officer

Favourite Food(s): Poi 'n' mash

Favourite Colour(s): Poiple

Toys: Only in the bedroom!

Hobbies other than the obvious: Empoidery

Education: Whitehawk Poimary School

Favourite Book(s): About a Poi - Nick Hornby

Favourite Movie(s): Poi Story 2

Favourite TV show(s): Poi meets world

Plans for life in general: World domination through the lesser known darker arts of Poi

Favourite Music Artists/Composers: Badly Drawn Poi

Favourite ice cream flavour(s): Poistachio

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? Which is darkest?

Do we have anyone else on this board who practices the dark side of Poi? Only it is rare I find any public Poi'ers with any interest in the darker side and all too often it's about vibrant colours and cheery motions which is not what I'm about at all.

Nice to meet you all.

x

Thanks Doc,

Praline and Dick was only a joke. It's a reference to the line in Wayne's World where Garth is warning of the evils of record exec. Benjamin who, were he an ice cream flavour, would almost certainly be Praline and Dick

Hope I haven't scared anybody off, I'm not really a scary dark Poi master, I just like to perform with black Poi in my black gothic outfits!

At night I have luminous painted black Poi which can be great fun.

Excellent - I too use luminous poi.

I'm SO glad I found this forum - it's incredibly exciting biggrin

Yeah too right. This forum is almost as fun as twirling my Poi in front of an excited crowd of people, all cheering and clapping me for my skills on a sunny day

I'm also a little new. I like twirling to the latest J-Pop sounds. I like J-Pop more than I do Poi, but I still like Poi lots.

Welcome to HoP House_of_Poin. I just spent three weeks in Brighton.. Whitehawk to be precise. I never saw any gothic poispinners there :/
Oh and what comes to marmite, vegemite and nutella: marmite IS the darkest and most evil of them all. I took a spoonful of it when i was in Brighton and I swear that that`s what Satan must taste like.

Marmite it is then.

And you wouldn't have seen me Poi'ing it up in Whitehawk as I value my life. Council estate sorts don't take kindly to peace-loving baggy clothed Poi performers.

Did you enjoy it apart from the Marmite then?

Damn, I must have missed that! Yeah it's really important to me that the place I move to has a decent poi scene. Ha ha, does that sound sad?! Just gonna be living there a few years at least so I have to make sure it's gonna be right for me and I'll fit in OK.

There are two stores where you can buy Poi in the North Laine, although one of them always smells a bit smokey, if you know what I mean.

Glad you enjoyed sunny Btown Fyre, what were you upto down here, just on holiday? Perhaps we could do a cultural Poi exchange and I can investigate the Helsinki Poi scene, perhaps show them a few of my own moves?

And Miss_Poi, glad you enjoyed it too. There is definitely a great scene here, you would enjoy it immensely. If you ever want me to show you the best Poi spots and the places to get your accessories, just let me know. Maybe we could eventually join forces as a 4 Poi double act! Think of the excitement

poi is for gays and retards, no way dose it improve your motor skills and this site dosen't give a general world view. it's all bloody hippies that stink and sit around all day, not like it's been "trolled" by some clever people we couldn't see through and think are immature F**ktards

Depends if you like your dance music to be funky/dirty/dark/melodic etc..

why not have a listen to www.nsbradio.co.uk ? You can go in the chatroom and say 'who is this' if you like it. smile
