Hello medsta, welcome to HoP!

Why not tell us a bit more about yourself?

wave weavesmiley

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

time cannot be quantified unless in relation with space, the space-time interchange, first discussed by Einstein in his papers on relativity. 'There is only now' is an immature statement, as there is clearly more than one description of now dimensionally. There are multiple, infinite nows, destiny is an endlessly iterating indescribable mathematical paradox (see kurt godel's incompletenss theorem). There is only now is a logical statement but it only partly the truth. There is also evidence of seeing time in the future (Google: CERN/particle accelerators) but this can only be recognised as truth after the event i.e. travelling faster than time.

To me this statement fails philosophically, scientifically, logically and emotionally. Instead of pondering the lack of quiescence associated with time and its ephemerality, do some poi bizness!!!!!!!

oh an welcome!! smile weavesmiley hug

I find that when I have a cold time moves more slowly, and I produce a great deal of earwax.

Can you explain that to me poipirate?

Hello?

i think i can yes. have you ever studied the concepts of cognition? essentially the mind workd differently in given circumstances. Our perception of time (and consequently space) is relative to the way our mind is working at any given moment. Have you ever drawn a cognitive map of your route home for example? If you draw from your head your walk/bus ride/car journey home you will find it varies significantly from an accurate map. certain parts are exxagerated or condensed depending on your brains perception and response to certain stimulus on your journey. Some part of the road you are travelling on, for example, will be expanded, or curves sharpened etc. It is fair to assume the same thing happens in relation to time. I hope this helps! wink xo

As for the earwax, that's entirely medical, as your GP about what he can do for you.

BSE is caused by a protein in the brain of the cow which forms plaques and then causes holes in the brain. Thus the name spongiform. Thought to have derived from scrapies in sheep.

Nope, but I did watch an ace programme on telly the other night about Oz. It had wombats and koalas and platypii (no idea what the plural of platypus is, but that looks cool smile) and all sorts of cool stuff. Did you know that all life in the Australian desert is sustained by termites? It's true, you do learn a new thing every day! *chuffed* biggrin

Its a very very funny channel 4 program that was on about 2 years ago.

Its set in the style of a bad 80's Hospital drama.. much like Quincy.

If you have bittorrent you can download the entire series from here:

here

It has the guys from Mighty Boosh in, as well as a few from the IT crowd.
