Ok, so I'm having this little problem. I am trying to figure out what to do over Spring Break. "Spring" break is Feb 22-March 2. So there's no way I'm staying in Ann Arbor.

One of the things I'm considering is going to London. Believe it or not, it is significantly less expensive for me to fly to London than to my parents' in California. Now, if I were going to go to London, it would be to see HOPers. I could even train around and go to other places (Sheffield, etc.). If I went, I'd arrive on Sunday, Feb 23 and leave on Saturday, March 1. Yeah, I know the timing sucks (no weekends).

Now, if I did this, are there people who could spare some floor/sofa space?

One problem is though, Mike, London is absolutely chock full of Londoners.

There's dozens of them - possibly more

as long as you think you can handle that then it's all fine.

If you go later in the year it's worse though. It's full of americans too.....

Look, it could be worse, C@ntus, it could be New Yorkers. Or even Angelinos. That would suck.

You're in Sheffield, right?

Have you checked the Home Stay database/programmy thing? You could do that and see who is available and contact them.

Pele, I've sent some PM's to people on the "Meet Others" list. We'll see what comes back.

But if anyone here feels like housing a nutty American fire-spinning med student in or around London (or Sheffield, for that matter), let me know.

I have to agree with C@ntus but I must say as a divorced londoner I miss it (just a little) so it does have it good points. But its intense!

can you handle it Mike?

Oh sure Mike... when I'm overseas it's not the New Yorkers or the Angelinos that I'm ashamed to be countrymen of... we understand foreign cultures cuz we live among them... it's those midwestern tourists that give the US a bad rep.

Kids from "flyover states" shouldn't go talkin' smack.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

Hey, at least we have our own culture!

(Ok, it's shootin' 'coons, eatin' roadkill for supper, and tippin' cows, but it's our own...)

So, guess what?

I'm going to London! I'm going to London! Yippee!!!!!!

Were we thinking of dragging mr Ginny along?

It kinda depends on what kind of music he enjoys really..... (Mike?)

I know that Mr PK would schedule a PiP if he knew that Mike Ginny was in town (and if he doesn't I will ).

F**k London. Cantus is right it's full of Londoners. I know, I went there once. *shudders*

Instead, come to Scotland, home of whiskey, haggis, bagpipes and caber-tossing, and more sheep than you could ever hope to throw sticks at.

Plus Te Pooka (Mineiro and Tree etc) and Dibs are in Edinburgh

As opposed to Sheffield that just has - amongst others - Spiral, Mind Gap, One Dizzy Bird, PK and Nancy, Kato, Lolli, Jo Derry (nearby) and Noona.

And me (not sure if that's a good thing ), Thistle, Josh, Katinca, Kurobei etc, not far away too .

And London which has Glass, Dom (occasionally), Jez, Small Boy, Simian, Pink Poi, Pink Flags, Bam Bam, Carrey, Amy K, Hels Bels, Lolli again etc, etc, etc....
