TICKETS UPDATE 11th April 2006

==============================

TICKETS ARE NOW ONSALE!! bounce You can follow this link to the online Shop to make your purchase. If you buy a ticket with the forthcoming DVD you will get a £3 discount. Please note that the price of £25 will only be valid until the 13th June

Finally, we have a venue for play biggrin

Thanks for being so patient, the location for PLAY is now confirmed as being at Fordhall Farm, Market Drayton, Shropshire. TF9 3PS

The gates will be open from 10am Thursday 22nd June until 6pm Monday 26th June (yes that's FIVE days biggrin ) and will cost the princely sum of £25 in advance and £30 from two weeks prior to the festival. The tickets will be on sale from Sunday 2nd April right up until the event. The ticket price covers all facilities and events once onsite (bar, food & drink etc excluded of course) all workshops, the show(s), the childrens creche area etc etc etc

A beautiful organic farm set in the countryside (although 5 minutes from the town of Market Drayton) that will make for the most wonderful setting for this years (and hopefully many more) PLAY Festival.

(Please visit the Fordhall Farm website, they need to raise £600,000 by July 2006 to stop this beautiful fertile place from becoming yet another industrial development, if you can help their cause please do so hug )

It has great links to the M6 motorway via the A53 and for non car users we will post all info about the local transport situation asap. There isn't a train station that's particularly close but we will be laying on a PLAY Bus to make collections to/from the station as often as possible to help everyone out. There may be a very small charge for this (ie a quid or two) to cover the cost of the driver etc.

I will keep this post updated and of course keep your eyes on the PLAY Website and forum for the most up to date information.

If you could keep your questions in the PLAY Forum we'd much appreciate it as it will help us keep some control and ensure we answer as many as possible. It'll save Malcolms badwidth a little too.....

Hope to see you all there!

I should have taken more picture of people during the day rather than being over obsessed with the fire spinning. Having said that, it was some breath-taking stuff on show there.

ok im gonna try to make a proper thank you post now that i am not really really tired.

first of all big thanks to dunc and the people in the yellow shirts for organizing this amazing festival, i came all the way from israel just for PLAY and it was really worth it hug

also big thanks to anthony (alien_concept) for giving me and my dad a ride to PLAY and back and showing us around manchester too hug

also thanks for all the people who preformed in the shows, they were all really great (by the way, what's ros, laura and rob's group called?). i also loved the way the whole crowd heckled (and all the wiggling tongue)

the people were also really nice there, it was nice to be able to leave your stuff in random places and actually find them there when you realise you left your fire poi lying around in the big tent for the 4th time in the last 2 days.

Beth: thanks for letting me film you, your workshop was great smile hug
Laura: thanks for letting me film you, your workshop was great too, and im sorry we annoyed you about testing those poi we made hug
Ros: i really liked your body movement workshop (which my friends refer to as "the workshop where everyone was running around" for some odd reason), im also still trying to work on those floaty throw you showed me (help please?) and "garthy's rediculous move" as you call it (that move is so confusing confused ) hug
Oli: thanks for helping me with hyperloop turning, i will probably use what you told me when ill get used to my new poi hug
Rob: thanks for all the stuff you taught me and for your great workshop, these moves were crazy ubbloco hug
Garthy: thanks for the chocolate smile (am i the only one who noticed that garthy was running both workshop that were related to food?)

also thanks to the guys who organized the whole world record spin, it was great, are we gonna try to break our own record next year? oh and all the staffers should do burnoffs at the same time wow

also thanks to everyone else who helped make this festival so great, i had a great time and i gotta find a job and save up some money for next year's PLAY, is it gonna be the same dates and place?

Ladies (means you too Ed)

There's some on my gallery. There's none of the fire stuff as everyone will have those somewhere and I don't have the HOP points to put them all on (will have to change that). But the ones on there made me chuckle a bit biggrin

ummm... your rediculous move is that move where one poi is spinning forwards and the other spinning backwards, and one poi is moving antispin and the other longarm (im not sure if i explained it right... but it's still rediculous ubbloco )

You're welcome mate, we were truly honoured to have some people travel so far just for our festival, thank YOU for coming smile hug
The location and dates aren't confirmed yet, but fingers crossed it will be the same site (very likely) but not the same dates (also very likely). It'll probably be around mid-end July 2007, which gives you an extra month to save your money biggrin

They will be for sale soon in the play shop. If you wait for details they'll be up soon smile I'm sure we've got a medium red left

Once you do make sure you email them to strugz (strugz at playfestival.co.uk) or ask him for address details to post on CD so we get the full quality without jamming email servers! smile

We have new developments for 2007 already thanks to our visit to the Workhouse Festival. Wow eek Workhouse is the best smallish festival I've ever been to, I'm sooo glad it's not the same weekend as PLAY! biggrin Anyway, what I was saying was developments......you're all gonna get something very cool at play, very cool indeed wink biggrin But don't ask me about it, that'll take the fun out of the tease tongue

hey dunc, i've already been looking up possibilitys for the 2007 stage, not going to use tube and fittings if i can help it would love to use system scaffold as it just clips together so it's faster and neater for what you want ( now i know the stages DON'T need to be a meter high ubblol )

The supports kind of got in the way this year.

(And yes I do realise supports are kind of neccessary)

About the t shirts, no-one's had any trouble with them shrinking have they? Just wanted to check before throwing it in the washing machine and having it come out doll size...

I thought the big top was perfect.

Loads of room, and the supports kinda sectioned off the middle nicely for the renegade stage...

The only problem I had with it all was the actual stage, but that's all been taken into account by the looks of it smile
