Greetings... I decided to take a hint from a friend, and do everyone a favour and use the template...
So.

Name: Daniel Keating

Location: Central Coast, NSW, Australia

Hometown: Yarramalong

DOB: 11th August '87

Age: 18

Sex: Male

Occupation(s): Student

Favorite Food(s): Sugary fruit ring things. Just try and argue.

Favorite Color(s): Black and blue. I couldn't decide so they can be the one, fun, magical colour, bleuk biggrin

Toys: ...Sure... if you coun't my camera, and my filming props, such as swords and the like... they are my favourite toys of all...

Hobbies other than the obvious: What's the obvious? :P I enjoy fire. Beyond this, I really enjoy working with film, writing, directing, producing, etc etc etc... which is partially why I love fire. In the real world fire is an amazing visual effect... and can be captured within media as well... I get lots of ideas like that, as I make my own special effects, and do my own fight choreography.

Education: HSC, presently undergoing a Certificate III in TAFE

Favorite Book(s): Dare I say it? Lord of the Rings, I've got a few favourites from Star Wars, as well as really digging thrillers, such as The Bourne Identity... etc etc, I write a lot, but I'm more of a movie person

Favorite Movie(s): Now we're talkin... Mall Rats, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Orange County, American Beauty, The Bourne Identity, Underworld, Serenity, Gladiator, and a host of others... there are just so many...

Favorite TV show(s): Stargate, Buffy, Angel, Coupling, Lost, Supernatural, Family Guy, American Dad, Ali G, anything by Chaser, The Glass House... the list runs on.. but thats an idea of the type that I like.

Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up)
Well at the moment I am planning an unplanned career in movies, building a network of contacts in all and everything media, with a side line in computers (hence the I.T. education) with a business me and a few friends are setting up now. Honestly? If I have a camera, and it can get watched, I'm happier than indifferent.

Favorite Music Artists/Composers:
Yellowcard, All-American Rejects, Audioslave, Lacuna Coil, Switchfoot, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Unwritten Law, Something Corporate, TRUSTcompany, Marilyn Manson, The Killers... there is something from every end of the proverbial scope. So it's a matter of asking...

Favorie ice cream flavor(s): Mint Choc Chip. No competition. If you want a Jihad... you've got one.

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? *rolls eyes* Ok, in the interest of supporting the holy war and the great crusades against marmite... I would say Nutella. But I expect blood to be shed because I spent my time with this opinionating.

And with all that said... I AM A NEWBIE! I have never actually performed firetwirling, however, I am VERY, VERY interested in learning, for a variety of reasons, the first being I have a great appreciation for the artistic scope of such an activity. I have experience with teaching myself to throw staffs around, etc etc, but beyond that... as I said, I'm a newbie.

Thanks for reading my aimless ramble...
Dan

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

And yeah, my new propaganda will in fact be the promotion of bluek. And yes, of course god IS Alanis Morrisette. Never thought I'd hear myself say that... but hey!
I'll head to the videos now... I look forward to this immensely..

Hi and welcome to HoP Dan wave! Bleuk.. ubblol

Camera? Video or stills?

Alanis Morrisette hehe.. I really liked her when jagged little pill came out. I even bought the imported acoustic spacecakes album.. double the price for half the tracks (!).. Went to her concert and almost got a drumstick ubblol Then post-jagged little pill she went all.. sigh.

Hahaha... ok, now its Alanis discussion, hands down.
.....
And then no one said anything... ah well :P
So people... I'm planning my next film atm. It will feature a kinda "clash of the titans" scene, in which two combatants battle it out with staffs with an end lit... I wanna make this bright and flaring but I dont actually want my crew to kill themselves with this either.
Anyone got any ideas on how I might go about this?

Oh yeah, and while I love a good, artistic still, its all about the video for me. I write scripts for stuff, and have a certain shade of ambition to get into the music video industry...
Mainly because I don't believe there is enough appreciation for the decent stuff out there, and hence a lot of it dissapears.
