I've been here for a while, lurking, loitering and generally watching the general shenanigans. And now, I'm biting the bullet and having a getting to know me post.

Name: Paul Andrew Duckmanton, but most people don't go to all the trouble of using my full name, and just call me Paul. Or Ducky.
Country:UK
Hometown:Glasgow, at the minute
DOB:21 August, 1980
Age:25
Sex:Male, mostly
Occupation(s):I work in a universtiy, telling students what to do, mocking them, and giving them the confidence to realise that they do know things after all
Favorite Food(s):Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Italian. Basically, if it's food, I'll eat it. I have been known to eat things which aren't traditionally classed as food too, but not too often.
Favorite Color(s):Purple.
Toys:I love toys. I have recently obtained a Playmobil Plane. It is yellow, white and very cool. I also own beanbag poi, fire poi, fire staff, juggling clubs, fire clubs. I think that's all for the time being.
Hobbies other than the obvious:Tai Chi, which I haven't done in ages, but would love to get back into. Also, I love climbing. If I can do bouldering (climbing something less high but without a harness), I prefer that. It means I can go on my own, and don't have to hunt for a climbing buddy. If anyone want's a climbing buddy in Glasgow however...
Education:Ooooh. Lots of it. Primary school, secondary school, A-levels, uni and beyond. From uni onwards however, it was chemistry all the way. I like to burn things.
Favorite Book(s):Anything. I love books. I'll read most things if I'm bored enough. Except Jane Austen.
Favorite Movie(s):Again, anything. I'll watch any old rubbish
Favorite TV show(s):Recently, Lost, and Afterlife, which was on ITV before Christmas. Long term, it has to be Thundercats, or anything with Johnny Ball in it.
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up)This assumes I want to grow up. I don't. I do have to pay the bills however, and to do this, I'm going to try and become a Science Communicator, telling little kids why science is so interesting, fun and useful
Favorite Music Artists/Composers:DJ Shadow, Mr Scruff, Air. That type of thing. And Britney's earlier stuff. Her later stuff wasn't so good though.
Favorie ice cream flavor(s):Chocolate. I'm not a fan of sweet things, but really good chocolate ice cream, I can make an exception for.

Anything else you want to know, then just ask. I'm at a pretty basic level with most of my toys (except the plane - I can zoom round the room with that no problem).

wave Welcome to HoP Ducky! (god that sounds camp!) wink

Tai chi is a lovely art to practise, and it helps with poi as well!

Good call on the music. Except Britney umm

Because ActiveAngel sounds like a feminine deodorant

Now there's absolutely nothing wrong what-so-ever with Ms. Spears early work. The pathos and emotional range displayed in Oops I did it again showed an emotional maturity...Ok. I can't even make it sound good.

And as for campness, how do you think I feel. I've been stuck with the name since the age of five. There are people out there who only know me as ducky. Someone once asked me if it was actually my real name. How cruel did they think my parents were!

Yes, it is, and no, I didn't buy it from you. I got it from wind things. I did buy it because of you though. I now have fire poi, clubs and staff. Only the clubs have been lit though, and that was an age ago. 2000 if I remember correctly.

I saw Johnny not long ago. He's well. Do you see him much anymore?

Well, I wanted one there and then (I don't get through to Ed much these days), and I wanted to practice on it first. And, I live in Glasgow now, and I've yet to find a Juggling shop anywhere. I would have waited and got it last weekend from Oddballs down in London, but Easyjet would have had a fit, I'm sure.

There are a lot of animals there. Katie's still living there, and now has a guinea pig which talks to a computer, and loads of mice apparently, and hamsters and rats. It won't be long before they have to branch out from the wonderful world of rodents into some sort of proper animals.

Oddballs is also poo, no, I meant from here which is where I work. And therefore obviously far superior.

Yeah, but mice are the coolest. Baby mice! ^-^ Nah, easy jet would be cool. And it wouldn't have be lit, so doubly cool. Just don't tell em what it is.... wink

I'd heard you were working at tePooka now from Johnny. Do they have a shop in Ed at lady lawson street then, or is it just a warehouse. I'm always wary of mailorder stuff (not that I don't trust your construction skills), but it just means waiting in for the delivery or treking to the postoffice.

I've only just stopped being a student, so I'm still very lazy.

It's taken me ages to work out who you are, I only realised when I saw your knitting thread, and realised you were a boy, and in Glasgow, and that I probably know you.

Now you have to work out who I am! ubblol

And if it makes you feel better I didn't know you are called ducky.

I know now though mwahahaha!

Tai Chi? I love doing Tai Chi, it so smooth and controlled. You can really connect with yourself, it's great!
