Hey people, I stumbled onto the brilliant work of Ana Egge a couple of days ago and have grown to love her folk rock/homemade guitar style. I've also been given a CD by the 'Flight of the Conchords' a Kiwi comedy folk band (everyone should find their rejected LOTR soundtrack song - 'Frodo')

So, what cool/random/brilliant/or just plain stupid music have you guys come across? how? where? the best story wins a great big bag invisible bag of beer and chocolates.

You know if you asked people they might tell you this is a very annoying thing to do, hijacking peoples posts with hipthrusts on allmost a *looks at a calandar* daily basis.

Legal and illegal are a point of view. All that matters is morality.

If there's a shadow in your life, then there is also sunshine. Perception is everything.

Zeroscape, the Braille album. My band borrowd their drummer to play bongos for us, and in return we opened for them at a gig!

They're Canadian, they sound like Skindred, they're metal as f*ck, and they're awesome! It's ragga metal, with a big dreadlocked Jamaican sounding dude out front.

Very very groovy.

Spin, bounce, be one with the world, because it is yours to enjoy...

Any song by kevil "bloody" wilson

but i do love the builder song

Verse

School holidays were draggin' on

He was gettin' really bored

And his Mum had started poppin' pills

She was climbin' up the walls

So when he asked her could he go across

The buildin' site and play

She just popped another pill 'n' just said

"Don't get in the way"

So he chucked his little toolbox

In his billycart 'n' left

While his Mum knocked up a cuppa

Laced with valium and Bex

She needed all the help she could

To cope with holidays

But the pills and powders weren't enough

When he got home from play ... 'n' said ...

Chorus

I wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up ... eh, Mum

And build fu*kin' houses everywhere, millions of the c**ts

A bricky or a chippy, eh Mum, I don't give a fu*k

I just wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

Verse

It seemed the sawn-off sh*t

Had listened to the builders while they worked

And he'd remembered everything --

Word for fuc*in' word!

And his shell-shocked Mum just sat there

As he went on to explain

How "some w*nker lost the fu*kin' plans

Then found the cu*ts again!"

And how "some dickhead missed the fuc*in' nail

And hit his fuc*in' thumb!"

And how "they shaved a mickey whisker

Off the door to close the c*nt!"

And his voice was so excited

Best fun he'd ever had!

"And can I go back tomorrow, Mum?

Can't wait till I tell Dad, how ...

Chorus

I wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

And build fu*kin' houses everywhere, millions of the c*nts

A bricky or a chippy, really, I don't give a fu*k

I just wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

Verse

His Mum was scoffin' scotch and serepax

And propped against the fridge

And when his Dad got home she dribbled

"Tell your father what you said"

So the young bloke give his Dad a serve

The air was turnin' blue

"F*ck the weather, fu*k the foreman

'N' f*ck the unions, too!"

His old man turned fu*kin' purple

'N' his whole body started to twitch

Until finally he exploded

"Go and get a switch!"

But the young bloke shook his head

'N' said, "No way, mate, I've knocked off

Anyway, you can go 'n' get rooted

Cause that's a fu*kin' electrician's job!"

Chorus

Cause I wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

And build fu*kin' houses everywhere, millions of the cu*ts

A bricky or a chippy, not a sparky, go get fu*ked

I just wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

Yeah, I wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

And build fu*kin' houses everywhere, millions of the c*nts

A bricky or a chippy, you cranky ba*tard, go get fu*ked

I just wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

Yeah, I wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

And build fu*kin' houses everywhere, millions of the c*nts

A bricky or a chippy, you're not me foreman, go get fu*ked

I just wanna be a fu*kin' builder when I grow up

I discovered a fab website today which introduces you to new music... Pandora
You put in a track or artist you like and it shows you other artists with similar styles, based on qualities in the music, like instrumentation, influences, lyrical style.
I tend to be a bit slow on these things, so apologies if everyone else already knows about it.... rolleyes

atm I'm researching the american minimlist movement in classical music, which extends to pre & post minimalism of various kinds & I'm drawing comparisons to the impressionist composers of the late 1800s & modern d&b/ambient stuff.

I discovered a tone setting for my guitar that produces a solo sound so sweet it made me want to take off my pants and jacket.

Setup:

Fender Stratocaster on neck pickup with both Tone knobs switched to zero. preferably use Lace sensor pickups.

Overdriven style distortion with a little crunchy gain and a nice healthy reverb.

Use that for soloing and girls will love you.

Also you can use the same setup for a nice rocky rythmn tone if you switch the pickup to the bridge and turn the tone knobs back to 8 or full

fair luna moon, fair luna bright
forever we dance
we dance under starlight
