HUmm I dont usually do this on forums but what the hey!

I have just returned to home from a recent world trip. Saw Pois for the first time in northern Thailand and thought 'That looks like fun' got eventually to Ko Phangan for the full moon party and after seeing it again there decided it was definately the time to buy a set. So after splashing 350 Bhat ($7) afik I went about carrying them with me for 2 more months before I met someone to teach me the basics.

I now am pretty much a watch and try myself kind of person and am hoping to meet others in Ireland to practice with. I have been teaching my girlfriend for the last ages but with her sense of direction and co-ordination she has been breaking my spirit. I have sucessfully thought others though so its not all bad.

So anybody based in Dublin want to join me as a poianeer send a PM, Seeing as Im currently unemployed(able) Ill be lurking around here watching videos and looking for tips for the next while.

Hi and welcome to HoP, person! wave There are a couple of Irish HoPpers, but not sure who might be in Dublin. Might help to do a search or a post in the Meet Others thread?

Also, just wondering- what exactly is hurling? confused

Aka: Fastest field game in the world https://www.gaa.ie/page/hurling.html

Tried to source some short and decent quality video in the past online but couldnt find any. In brief its a cross between Field hockey and lacrosse and very similar to shinty in scotland but few people know that either.

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Hey Ger-

I'm just back from festival in USA where I saw AMAZING poi and fire work..can see getting hooked on it!.. I am a complete beginner.. got to start somewhere though.
Anyway, I live in dublin near christchurch. drop a line if you might be into showing me some basics.

I'm a student so summer is play time. :-)
