Hey, just introducing myself. I'm Stacy, I've been spinning poi for about a year now. I haven't tried fire yet, but I'm really excited to start. My main home base is in Madison, WI and I spend my time grooming dogs and working at a porn store/head shop...
Other than that I don't know how to do many moves yet, just the basics really like the weave and the butterfly, but now that I have internet I think it'll be much easier to learn. If anyone has any tips for a beginer I'm all ears, really!

The online lessons should keep you occupied for a little, then you might wanna start searching for threads about more difficult tricks (more weaves, wraps etc).
Check out www.motsplace.com or www.domoreofpoi.com
These two I found helpful for more complex tricks because they have videos as well.
