I am working at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in MA this summer and our first main stage show opened two days ago, the one I am in doesn't open for a few weeks yet, and as a way to kill the stress that results from hell week we a huge crazy party in one of the workshops (complete with stripping polls cages, custom lighting from the lighting crew and lots of drink and plenty of merry)... well the point is I used my glow poi and danced/spun/performed for a few hours at this thing last night and it was amazing. And it was my first performace infront of people I didn't know so it was pretty invigorating and I just had to let someone know.

Take care everyone.

When I was in egypt, Nucleopoi and I were asked to put on shows at the hotel there. We both did poi, and I did some CJ.

It was quite an adrenaline rush!!

Well done, dude.

Edge- yeah... Everything was really smooth and I did somethings that I had never practiced-- they just happened and I didn't have to think about what I was doing I just sort of let the poi do whatever they wanted. I was moving more than I ever do when I practice and transitions were smooth and some of them I didn't even know I could do and new moves came up and-- it was awsome.

Isn't performing hard? Don't you have to plan a routine, and get everything perfect etc? And isn't it hard to keep the audience interested for like half an hour or so?

I never perform before, but am interested in doing so in the future.

i didn't find it that hard...i'm really new so can only do a few moves...i just sorta did it...it was a spontaneous thing anyway so i didn't prepare...
having music is so good tho - it was the first time i'd done it to music but it just kinda flowed from that...it was great biggrin

I agree

Naughtly I attempted fire poi quite early on in my poi attempts. When you perform sometimes you just let the poi control you. Its amazing because you do move and things that you didnt even know you could do!

Wow thats so exciting!!! I've only been doing poi for about a month, and picked up fire poi nearly a fortnite ago,and i've already been lucky enough to perform with fire a couple of times,I think more than anything it really helps you learn, having people around you is a massive adrenalin rush, and always be comforted by the thought that most of them wouldn't have a clue what to do with the funny spinny things your flying around your face!
I even have my first paid gig tomorrow,so its another chance to practise!
Muchos good luck to you my dear!Hope it all goes well!!!!
