for the last two weeks or so ive been fairly obsessive about doing the sudoku in the paper each day.. i think im an addict. smile

my girlfriend is additcted to sudoku.. had a go but not very hard so didn't worry, just simple jigsaw with numbers..similar to perfect mathmatical square. for one of her puzzles i found 3 possible solutions, but i know some can be quite hard

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Have played many of the mousebreaker games as work avoidance at uni . . . I don't want to know how much time I spent on them.... it would be far too scary....

O.K. know this is probably boring and no-one cares but has anyone noticed how mathematically clever sudoku is?
and especially the number 9
Got a bit "hippyfied" last night and watched my girlfriend solving a sudoku puzzle and as my mind wandered Irealised;

If you add 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9 (all the numbers used in sudoku) you get 45 a multiple of 9
in fact if you add all the numbers up to ANY multiple of 9 i.e
1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17+18 = 171
171 = 19 x 9
you get a multiple of 9
if you add the digits of any multiple of 9 you get 9 (or multiple thereof)
171 = 1+7+1 = 9
9 x 24 = 216
2+1+6 = 9
and the 1st 10 multiples of 9 are palendromic i.e.
0 9 18 27 36 45.54 63 72 81 90

Therefore I have come to the conclusion that the answer to life, the universe and everything is NOT 42 it has to be 9 soapbox
9 is the magic number so....
