I can smile

Although I'm trying not to eat donuts anymore - too much sugary non-goodness frown

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

tsk, beginners!

try doing it with a jam dougnut, much more interesting

Doughnuts themselves are low in sugar (they contain virtually none) and if you cook em right soak up little oil. Then coat them in chocolate when you're done smile

sort of ubbangel. It's all relavent, but they needn't be as bad (yummy) as the ones you get at fun fairs.

The dough isn't that dissimular to bread dough (i can't remember the exact ratios of ingrediants but i've got them at home and have made doughnuts several times. The main ingrediant is of course wheat flour). Deep frying works essentially by boiling the water content of food which in turn steams it. If you get the temperature right the amount of oil that actually soaks into the food is minimised. Combine that with decent sunflower oil that hasn't been used for anythign else/reheated. It is possible to bake doughnuts, but they arnt as good.

What about Tesco's own doughnuts?

I'm so hungry ubbcrying. I've been taking rice cakes to work with me in the past couple of weeks instead of cake/muffins. It seemed like a good idea at the time but it's getting beyond a joke now

i think berlinas is a South Australian thing, because in the NT, they're called jam dohnuts.
