I just got around to talking about this now, but I've been a bit busy :P

This past weekend I was at Canada's largest anime convention, Anime North.
The saturday night there was a very large dance in the ball room at the main hotel it was being hosted at.
I brought along all my toys with the intent of having some fun and spreading the wonderful world of spinning.
I was told I was not allowed to use any props except for things you hold directly in your hand (aka, no swinging toys or devil sticks or diabolos or juggling or staff). So this left me with nothing -.-
After a bit of wandering and dancing, I met a bunch of people who had some glow sticks with strings, and so the night of teaching began.
I continued to wander the entire night, stopping where ever I found a pocket of people with stringed glow sticks, to teach some 3 beat weaves, butter flies and give them a piece of paper with HomeofPoi's website on it
I eventually did get the entire dance floor to my self (a little later on when it was less crowded, and also partially because a group of my friends who I was break dancing with opened the circle right up and pushed me in) and I got to have much fun with my flags...

So now tonight I've been talking with a dozen or so people I met at the dance, and who are now absolutely taken with spinning It makes me warm and fuzzy to make new friends through spinning, and to spread the fun around!

Anyone with similar experiences?
