ok well its confirmed.
IVe booked the date in, and so now we have a lovely big Hall with a Kitchen and toilet block, along with a big ass campign area and flat area to use for the weekend! sept 30, Oct 1, 2 and 3. Its in a beautiful location only 5 minutes from the closest Public Transport and Supermarket, or 25 minutes by car from the Adelaide GPO. We can arrange transport to and from the site from the Bus stop given a bit of notice.
We've also bought a big ass markee to use as a 2nd learning area if the workshops get too big to fit in the hall.
I was thinking we could also have a bit of a party on the saturday night if people were able to chip in for a PA...
so yeah - if you are interested in something or doing something else - say so!
and yes - there will be a large campfire, and a big fire spin.

not alot.
mig has spare tent space. most of the pages are just filled with people saying wether they can / cannot come, and other peoples reactions to that.

it's a group warm-up game where you pass the energy round the circle
so I'd love to see like *everyone* getting together for this group warm up thing...
Zoom passes the energy from side to side round the circle
Zap can zap anyone you like in the circle...
and Screech is a rebound ... bounces the energy back to the person that zoom/zap/scrreched you
pretty simple but heaps of fun
(and makes everyone giggle lots )yeah gabe ... we, as a group decided not to do bellingen this year ....hopefully we'll do bellingen at another time... it's a beautiful festival....
which means I can come to Adelaide
so yeah... you can put me on the hoppers attendant list.... just a matter of booking the flight now

reminds me one year at Woodford, set up day, after dark, hearing all sorts of squeaks and rants and groans coming from the terrace above me and someone finally saying

I won't be able to make it. I thought I'd have a space in someone's car but those plans fell through. And I don't think my parents will be happy about the idea of me travelling for a day on a bus/train, or flying by myself....

How can I convince my parents to let me come to this thing? They're not really that strict but for some reason they don't want me going. They haven't said no, but they haven't exactly said yes either. It was like a 'we'll work it out when it gets closer' and now that it's closer they don't want to hear anything about it.
I mentioned it ages ago and they seemed fine with it but now that it's getting closer they're not so sure. I enquired about the times and prices of a bus to Adelaide. It's not about the money, it's about permission!
I think all of you who know me should call my parents and say 'Don't worry about it, I'll look after her'.
It's a shame that it's not a few days later, because I'm 18 on the 5th...and when you're 18 there's that whole 'I can do what I like' thing.

Plus, you could play the 'i'm going to be 18 soon, and doing all sorts of stuff. you've seen how supportive and friendly the community is, and how will you ever be able to accept my trustworthiness if you don't let me start somewhere. here is as good as anywhere' Possibly even relate it to moving away for uni, but that could be a little tetchy. I will reel off all the hoppers i've met and dad has met like you and the melb twirlerws he's met. Usually if I say 'and such and such will be there!' it usually reassures him.
But I still don't think it will work.
