It's been a while hey?

I've changed a bit since first wrote this intro post!

Well, I'm now 19, living in Melbourne. I'm studying Justice in the city which commences feb 12th. I'm kind of excited but kind of scared at the same time.

Unfortunately the 'spark' for firetwirling still hasn't been rekindled, it's probably been about a year since I've picked any toys up, not sure if I'll ever start up again.

I've been up and down and diagonal over the last however long it's been but I'm pleased to announce that I'm back, and I'm okay smile

Love & butterflies

I'm at school and I'm so bored. I'm meant to be looking up stuff for art but can't find much so once again, HoP wins over schoolwork. I was in this computer room by myself happily singing along with my iPod but then people started pouring in.

Someone add me to MSN, so I have something to look forward to when I get home. Someone send me an email or something. tongue I'm so bored!! tiger_eyes_dont_cry@hotmail.com

I should probably get back to class.

The dramatic narrative of the film charts Vincent's strength of will in refusing to accept these prescribed limitations. In a powerful metaphor, he and his younger (but presumably healthier and fitter) brother regularly play a game of "chicken" in the ocean. They swim as far as they can to see who is the first to feel fear and turn back. It appears that it is Vincent's fate (because it is his genes) to always lose to his brother. But one day he defeats his brother. He gains the confidence to believe that he can win any race, achieve any goals. He rejects the genetic story that had been authored about him at his birth. He exercises strenuously; he devises and plans cunningly; he exhibits patience, strength, endurance, and self-control. All this because of his desire and will to achieve his dream of being an astronaut. And in the end, he triumphs, setting off on a mission for Titan, the fourth moon of Saturn. He proves that all predictions about the phenotypic expression of his genes were inaccurate.

that's the main part re: the movie relating to your essay question, which i found in this interesting bioethics site which i think may be of good use if you're going for the bioethical argument in there somewhere.

this one compares the movie gattaca with the movie twins, you know, that one with danny devito and arnie. "Gattaca and Twins: What do they say about the future of Genetic discrimination?" Quite interesting, that there is a character by the name of vincent in both.. perhaps not just coincidence, eh wink

I might just have to take you up on that offer ezz! I'm so going to be writing on Gattaca haha. Definately not the other texts that we've done that were like a huge novel about the holocaust and a play about the stolen generation!

Next time I'm planning on coming to twirling I'll let you know and maybe I could borrow them! I'd love to have some extra help and some more notes and stuff to go over. That would be awesome. Thanks hun! hug

WHY...

can't I stop dreaming about Connor from Neighbours?

I have had two dreams about him in two weeks!! One last thursday and one today! It's crazy. The one last night was we were at some form of party and some other people from Neighbours were there and it was in this bar/hall thing. There was a seperate little room to the side (like a little kitchen area or something)and I was just talking to him, leaning on the frame thing in the door way and he was in the room a little bit, we were kind of like the only ones around that area at the time and all of a sudden he did the 'come hither' gesture with his fingers and the next minute we were passionately kissing! ubblol

...and then I woke up thinking 'I wish that was real'.... *blushes and giggles*

All up I think I've had 3-4 dreams about him in the last few months. I've never had a celebrity crush before! And usually when you have those dreams about the opposite sex, you usually don't have dreams about the same person more than once in a row (well for me anyway)

I was watching Neighbours today and he's with Serena and they kissed and I got so jealous! Hahaha.

It's so funny and so pathetic. I don't know what this is!

(P.S I finished my essay!)
