So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

In other news to everyone in general, I think I really messed up my shoulder lately. Old injury plus really bad technique trying to get a good crack from Michael's whip. I suspect the rotator cuff is inflammed (please don't be torn!!). Today's a public holiday in Brissie, but I think I'll call the physio folks up on Thursday.. Hopefully they can squeeze me in soon.. *crosses fingers*

Yes, I do hope this shoulder fixes itself. On the bright side physio at UQ isn't too expensive. I'd hate to have found myself in excruciating pain with no access to medical help. lol btw! Rainbow Brite hehe. I never knew about Rainbow Brite til I went to a friend's costume birthday party, and saw her sister dressed up as her.

lou: Shoulder's getting worse actually. You know how some days you think you'll go to be at the end of it and the next day it'll feel better? It's been feeling progressively worse these past 3 days. Very glad I've got a few tablets of Ibuprofen from that time I smashed my knees. Won't last long though.. Good luck for that exam miss! Even though I know you're a 90% student -grin-

courts: I don't know Rainbow Brite's tale.. let alone the moral! Have you ever watched the kids program 'Rainbow'? Now that was classic ubblol

OOOH RY!!!!

Seriously I know the BEST physiotherapist in Brisbane. I had a shoulder injury a few years ago that lost me the use of my left arm.. and though I may not be the best spinner, you wouldn't know that I actually couldn't even use it a few years ago, eh..... She's THAT good, she's BRILLIANT and not dear (about $60) considering that most times people only need to see her once or twice cos she is so good and cos she has such a busy practice she want to have people coming back 50 times....DON'T think you're saving money going to a crap/beginner physio. You won;t save money and you might end up damaged.

This woman is the BOMB she is the ANTISPIN HYPERLOOP INVERTED FLOWERWRAP of Physios, OK!! Her name is Sue LIster ph 32524000 and she practices at Body Mechanics across the road from Royal Bris Hospital. I will personally drive you there!!!

The story of Rainbow brite: wink

"Once upon a time, there was a girl named Wisp. By some stroke of fate, she became aware of the place now known as Rainbowland and wanted to save it from the darkened state it was in. The Dark One had taken over the entire planet and turned it into a gloomy, dismal place where no joy resided. But this young girl made it her mission to turn the world back into the beautiful land it had once been. The only instructions she had been given were to find the Color Belt and the Sphere of Light - and so she set out to do so.

The first acquaintance she made upon arrival there was a white sprite named Twink. His advice had been to run away, but Rainbow was determined to save this planet and wouldn't let cowardice defeat her. He admired her courage and decided to stay with her on her quest.
Next, they found the magnificent horse Starlite. He was frozen in ice, but Rainbow and Twink were able to free him and he joined their efforts to save the world.
They endured many struggles, and found a baby! Wisp knew she couldn't leave the baby alone, and so she took her with them. It started to rain, so they went inside a cave to keep dry. There, Wisp found the Color Belt and was shocked to discover that the baby she had found actually was the Sphere of Light! She received a message from the Color Kids that they had been sent to 7 different corners of the land and had to be rescued for her to be successful - and so off they went to free the Kids.
They found all 7 one by one and set them free from their imprisonment. Then Rainbow was met with the biggest challenge - the Dark One himself. But with the help of the rainbow, she was able to defeat him and restore color and happiness to the land!
She was given the name Rainbow Brite and put in charge of keeping color alive in Rainbowland, and on Earth. Her helpers are the Color Kids (one for each color of the rainbow) and the small furry Sprites who mine Color Crystals in the Color Caves.
But not all inhabitants of Rainbowland support Rainbow's efforts. Murky Dismal and his sidekick Lurky are always up to some mischief - trying to take the Color out of the world. But Rainbow has always come out on top - and always will! "

Don't think it counts though. I'm thinking more 'wait a minute, don't even think about getting that paint on me.. hey.. i'm serious.. really.. hey.. *squeal*"

courts: hehe.. colourful horses indeed. ubblol This weekend? Friday's looking brilliant with Jazzy's birthday, might go see a band play beforehand.. Saturday's Pixie's birthday and a small choccie cake gathering at the pixie palace with everyone (yay! Might try to teach Taj waistwraps.. ubblove) Then moonfest! mm fondue.

Shoulder's still caning though- booked a physio appointment for Monday, and I can't wait for it. I'd so volunteer for surgery right now. Good thing though, cos I won't be spinning so much come Sat, I'll prolly be giving my lil camera a bit more attention. So more pics coming soon, hopefully!

Well, super afternoon ahead.. going for a chat with Kyle and my production group over a super lunch at the forest.. vegan desserts never tasted better! Really like, vegan chocolate cake better and richer than real chocolate cake.. who'dve thunk it!

Alrighty, take care guys- will catch up later! hug hug

hey ry, remember last time you put a vid up, and i couldn't see it properly cos it had a big pop up saying that it has to shut down? it did it again, and i spent soooo unbelievably long downloading it onto my slow little compooda. so all i can really say about it is that it had a nice background, and the couple of times that you did come into view you looked very stylish, but other than that all was obsured. frown

courts: Sure you can! Plane tickets don't go for that much these days. I just discovered that virginblue has a daily sale around lunchtime?! Miss Courtney Brite ubblol

In other news. A while back I sent my camera's battery grip to Canon to be replaced because of a design flaw they just remedied. After a month wihthout the part, they rang me up just now and tell me they want the camera too!! frown I guess I'll drop it off on Monday- sooner this is out of the way the better.

What it means though, is life is out to get me. Thought the crook shoulder would be a chance to catch up on my photography, but looks like I'll now not have that either. And by Elvis if something happens to my guitar, I will not be a happy camper.

myco: That's annoying! I hope you didn't delete it though.. I think you should try to fix that problem once and for all- perhaps reinstall Windows Media Player (latest version is 9- can be done on via windows update)? That or download Zoomplayer (which is pretty good as well). Feel free to shout out if assistance is needed hug
