So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

I burnt my arm tonight eek and then when i was reeling from the shock of that (and looking to see if it was nasty) the sneaky wick on my other stick leapt up and burnt my other arm.... First time doing fire in about 10 months.....so anyway I was just saying things like "oh dear" and "boy, that smarts" etc when i heard the crackling noise and turned to notice that the hedge was on fire.

Not just slightly either. Very.

Y'see in all the excitment and subsequent swearing I had carelessly discarded both my sticks....

"Whoops" I exclaimed and hastily decided that water might help. So i set of in search of a bucket of water. I looked in a rain barrel and lo it failed to live up to it's name. But eventually I found a discarded dustbin containing, what can best be described as, a smidgin of rain water and a very leaky bucket.

"what a stroke of luck" I cried.

It was at this point when very abruptly i remembered that the hedge was on fire. The reason I recalled it so suddenly was because great gouts of flame were shooting across the lawn towards me.

"Oh lack a day" I bemoaned and dashed forwards to douse it. A few panic stricken moments later it was all out and gently smouldering nicely.

I decided to retrieve my prone sticks. I found one (the hedge lighting one) at a jaunty angle sticking out of the hedge, but where on earth is the other one?

It's in the other hedge on the opposite side of the garden and....well you can kind of see where this is going....

So anyway. I've had an exciting evening. What about you?

Meh

Lou: What do you think about a walk in toy wardrobe? Hanging pois, little holders for juggling balls.. even racks for staves.. not that I know anything to do with a staff, just they'd look nice on wall-mounted holders in a walk in toy wardrobe smile

My blue ones still haven't stretched much, they'd make amazing socks ubblol I also think that those squishy balls inside them are the ideal sock poi insides.. where was it they're from again? hug

Kels: Thanks btw, I've got a couple shots I'm quite happy with.. Not nearly enough though. Will just have to keep shooting!

22 plus the 9 here- you're on 31 again. hug Here's one to make it even. biggrin

froggie: You had to mention Play didn't you! tongue Very jealous and am considering packing up everything to be there.. The plane ticket's a bit of a problem. But! I can swim and I have a bicycle. I can't swim with a bicycle.. yet. Wonder whether I'll make it..

gita: Can't wait to see them at moonfest! I feel it's about time I made some multi headed poi.. Show what they look like? :envy:

Cantus: "Oh lack a day..." ubblol I bet you're not nearly as much of a gumbie as your interesting tale tells wink

I myself, haven't anything particularly noteworthy happen in the 10 minutes I've been awake.. Other than noticing my stiff shoulder seems to be getting worse. I think it's a result of sleeping on it. Well, that's how I remember first getting it. It's a bit of a @#$. Am finding it difficult to sit up straight, lift my elbow on the horizontal plane while my hand's still facing downwards, then lift my hand (wall plane) while my elbow's in line with my shoulders.. Think I may even prefer a burn to my arm at this point..

Where's that tiger balm..
