Hey Folks,
My names Jont, i'm 19 and I live in a little town just out of Walsall, Staffordshire. I haven't been Swinging very long at all. By trade i'm a magician, but lately iv'e been exploring a few other performance arts, had a go at juggling, diablo etc.
But I've fell in love with Poi, the fluidity of it is beautiful, i's like there an extention of yourself, not just another 'prop'.
Anyway, i've been playing around with some cheap poi from the Party and Halloween show in Birmingham, and looking at the videos on here, but they broke, so im gonna get some new ones.
Should I get fire ones? so I can get a feel for them before I light them?

, lovely to meet you. one of my mate's used to be a magician, till he 'fell out with the magician crowd'. (just remembered that i wanted to be a magician when i was little too, then i decieded being a witch was a better profession!) i think it's a good idea to practice with fire poi before you have a burn, my practice poi feel completely different to my fire ones. now available in "advanced"

I would defiently advise you to get fire ones, put it this way, you know you love poi, your sure you'll eventually do fire spinning, then in that case save yourself some oney get some fire poi, practise with them cos essetially they r just as good as normal poi, then when your comofrtable with it, just light up

Wow, i posted this a year ago then fell under a rock or something.
Well im back now and got back into swingin alot more, got a book and everything, the pictures are pretty but it makes me tangled alot!

As for Fire Poi, not yet, gonna get some at BallRing 06 in a couple of weeks.
As for real peeps, i got a buddy who swings too, so we are kinda learning together, which helps big style!
