I read all the text diagrams and yada yada but the anti-spin still escapes my understanding. Now we have people doing anti-spin splt time butterfly bussaw back flip 360 mctwists....... but all I would like to see is a video of a normal anti-spin weave or anything. PLEASE I BEG OF YOU. My brain hurts.

Hey there desperae people!
go [Old link] and check out bluecat playing with poi........ if you watch SS 01. standard straight arm antispin at 1.22.
Basically if arms going forward in big circle, poi is spinning backward and vice versa
many possiblities!
Although having another brain may help pull them off - one just isnt enough for me, these are way above the old "pat your head and rub your tummy" exercise!

Oli does anti-spin weaves in his "No Socks in Sight" and "At the Bottom of a Cliff" videos.
However, I think the anti-spin weave is the least versatile of all the anti-spin moves. Its nice to know, but dont kill yourself over it. Flowers and fountains are where its at
Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.

Oh, and there are PERFECT examples of anti-spin chase flowers and goofy butterfly flowers (poi spin butterfly, arms rotate chase) on the Dervishly Yers video.

OOoOOoooooOOOOOhhhh ...thats it? heh damn i thought it was gonna be way more complicated.
When i watched the spinach video ..at 1:22 when he does the standard straight arm anti spin. my reaction was "oh man thats pretty damn cool looking" *runs off to practice*
Thanks alot guys. If you happen to come up with any vids of the super duper complicated stuff i'd really love to have my mind blown again.
BTW -- I live in NY so actually getting to see GOOD poi in action is hard.

I don't think there's any such thing as a normal anti-spin weave, even the supposedly basic one really screws with your head
I'll pester as many of the people that I know can do it to sort out a nice, clear video as soon as possible, because I could really do with one as well
But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
