Do you listen to music on headphones whilst spinning? If so, do you ever get paranoid when using headphones? I've found that spinning with my eyes shut and music.. not blaring, but not massively quiet will often result in people coming around me and scaring the crap out of me when I open my eyes, or friends trying to attract attention without me realising. This I can live with.

But lately I've been finding it really hard to get into a flow because I'm always worried someone's walking up behind me, or trying to call me from the house for something important, or.. just something bad, which is stopping me focussing! I've only been using my headphones for a couple of days as well so perhaps this is just a teething problem.

But at the moemnt.. it sucks! Anyone else get this at all? I'm going to have to learnt to spin with my eyes open wink

What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

yeh i kno what you mean, but i think if you keep it up an relise nothing bad will happen, you should be right. Its probably something that you just need to get used to, maybe start with volume down so you can hear it, but still hear other things around you.

you could:

go somewhere else to spin where there is no-one you know that will bother you.

or tell your friends/housemates that you'll be spinning for 15 minutes and not to interrupt you - anything else can wait.

or spin with the music on a stereo rather than a walkman.

or smoke less before you spin wink

or set mantraps all around you so no-one can creep up and make you jump.

i get different headphone paranoia too - the total fear that you are listening to it too loud and everyone on the bus is secretly hating you.

but there's no way you can check, it's lke shrodinger's cat - as soon as you take them out you're hearing it differently. oooooooh the dilema!

two words: vibrate.

then you can learn to be paranoid when your sitting on speaker boxes and continuously think you're getting called... even when your phone's in your room on its charger. wink

Well I do a bit of both, i practise with glo's and socks with headphones in like on a beach or near the pier where i live but when i do fire i chose not to have headphones n rather speaker music (loud of course) i chose this because i was spinning once and i set fire to the bottom of my shirt and i couldnt hear anyone shout at me until i caught someones arm waving and had to throw the shirt off damn quick, could have got messy! so yeh i;d advise you to not use headphones with fire, and if u do, definetly tuck them in properly!
