Ok this is an official update of my mouldy old intro. every time that i accidentally bring up the first page of this instead of the recent one, i get a case of "geez i'm a tool writing such a dodgy intro". so i thought i'd put a fresh intro up for me to feel embarrased about biggrin

Here's some information about me...

i live in melbourne, where things are often rainy. raininess makes me sad.

i go to the ever wonderful melbourne sunday spinning, where all the lovely melbourne kids go. If you live anywhere near melbourne and you're checking out this intro to suss out what type of people go on sundays, i highly recommend you come along.

i'm a student nurse, so i get terribly excited about health. it also means that i will intermittently whinge about going on clinicals. i secretly love being on clinicals though.

i'm also a disability support worker, which i've done for ages. i love it heaps, but like any job, it has it's moments.

i live with my boyfriend, who i tend to complain about a lot also, but i love him to bits, even when he gives me the sh!ts.

someone once asked me to sum myself up in 5 words, and i came up with independent, caring, firey, needy and...oh bugger i can't remember the last. i'm sure it was good though biggrin

well, i can't think of anything else to put there, so i'll leave it till i start cringing whenever i see this intro tongue

and just so that the initial comments here are in context, here's what my intro originaly said....

"hey, I registered with HoP a few days ago in a procrastination attempt (1exam to go), and this whole talking-to-people-on-the-other-side-of-the-world thing kinda freaks me out. Anyway, I been reading peoples messages, which seems a bit voyueristic, since I haven't really introduced myself. I live in victoria, and I'm studying nursing, play with poi, but haven't 4 ages. please reply with something encouraging, otherwise I'll get scared and feel unwelcome. frownThen I'll be stuck with playing solitaire."

here's a little run down of the past 24 hours.... i was driving home from work when a copper pulled me over. i was a bit excited, because it had never happened before and i knew i hadn't done anything wrong.

he asked me if my car was registered, which it is, but i lost my little sticker before i could out it on...so he gave me a $50 fine.

he asked me where my back p plate was, it had fallen off.....so he gave me a $100 fine and 3 demerit points.

then in the evening i was catching a tram with some friends, i don't really even think about tickets on trams when it's a short distance, the thought doesn't occur to me. one of my friends asked if there are ever ticket inspectors, and i told her it wasn't too common. then 6 inspectors came on. there was about 9 of us.

when they asked for my ticket i showed them my ticket that you can reuse 10 times, which i hadn't validated that day. i figured if i could keep them busy for long enough, asking questions and things, it would be one fine instead of 9. because i'm a repeat offender its up to about $200 fines now for me. it worked because nobody else was asked, but after we got off they told me that they all had tickets. i could have just popped my ticket in to be validated when they came on, and avoided another fine.

so all up i accumulated about $350 work of fines in the space of a few hours. wooo...new record.

the metcops are yucky are really rude... i used to always travel without validating my ticket, then if i saw people get on validate it before they could check... then one day there were UNDERCOVER metcops on the tram. and i was on my way to my first exam of the semester, i had got my period that morning so had severe cramps and also just come down with a cold. i had my feet on the seat too so yeah... that ended up being $200. really wasnt happy. ahh well.

hughughughughug lots of love and light for you! and may the little money phaeries bless you!! (i will try and have a chat to them for you)

thank you all for the sympathy guys, it helps (as does the red wine biggrin)

Phaerie: yeah, a lot of those ticket inspectors are ultra rude, on a power trip cos they've got a badge. after many years of being rude back, thesedays i tend to be really nice to them. not sucking up or anything, just treating them like a human, like someone giving me a ticket for the movies. they're usually quite nice then, they probably get treated badly the majority of the time. doesn't get me out of paying the fine, but at least i know that i've put them in a good mood for the next person. oh, and thanks for having a word to the money fairies, i really need their help.

Ohhhhhh Myco who we love so well
with your cute pixie hair and smile
We know that you dont really smell
although Flynt says it all the while

and yes, we do just simply adore ye
but you're super classy, and we cant aford ye
so we'll just stand back here agape
peeling you a peach, a banana, a grape
smitten by your stunning face
longing to tenderly unlace...
your shoes, dear
and always, here
in our hearts you'll stay!
