as a kiwi(someone from new zealand the home of poi) i have to share some infomation with you all. first the word maorian doesnt exist, maori is like the word sheep, all clear, sweet. as for getting tattos moko, please be careful, as most things have great significance tothe culture they come from, something that cannot be understood by study or even years of intellicual study. maori people arent really interested in having there culture bastardised, its all about respect. the tattoists cannot be just anyone, they must be learned in the culture of maori and hold that position within maori society. i know a maori tattoist back home, if she wouldnt even consider giving someone such a tatto. but i guess its about what ever takes your fancy.
