It is soo true but there are some women and men who try to get over that. Problem is you stuck so much in your education and in things you are raised with that it isn't so easy to live what you want to live even then you see and understand what's going on.

You fall back in habits and behaviuor you know it is wrong.

That gives you the feeling you learned nothing and you run in circels and it makes you really confused and desperate.

But I think that belongs to one's personal development it needs time.

Ok. So last night, i fed the kids, put them to bed and played with the stick for a bit. Then i watched a few episodes of the West Wing and vegged about. Thom came over and he sat here while i nipped out to grab some green for us both. We had a bifta and a quick razz on Vice City, then he went off to some house party at a mate's.

Played backgammon on zone.com for a bit, won more than i lost, which is nice. Mo rang and asked if she could come over. I should point out that we'd already spoken that day: she'd shouted at me for a few minutes earlier on, which told me she was having a pretty crap day.

She came over and we hugged a little and talked about why she was feeling down. Then we watched West Wing. Taz and Thom came over while we were watching. Taz brought Kill Bill 2 with him on DVD so we watched that. Thom left around 2ish and we finished watching about half 3 and went to bed.

Fell asleep wrapped around the girl i love. Hmmmm, nice.

Just woke up. The kids were watching cartoons with Uncle Taz and are all excited because mummy's coming home today. I'd better go tidy up some more, she's a bit obsessive. I'll do it once i've had my spliff and cup of tea.

Take it easy.

Apologies for going AWOL for the last week.

Monday morning (the 30th) Mojo and I got up, got the kids sorted and finished tidying the house ready for Tamsyns return. I was all set to get a lift from her down to Bodmin and then make the trek back to Falmouth, when Mo asked if i'd like to go stay at her house.

No prizes for guessing what i said.

I spent a wonderful 5 days with her. It was lovely. It felt in a lot of ways like we were back together, although the painful knowledge that we're not kept coming back and stinging me when i least expected it. I know that she loves me though, and that i love her, and that we're both happy when we're together.

Could be worse. A lot worse.

On Friday i did a telephone interview with a band called the Wire Daisies (find them at www.wiredaisies.com ) for Stranger Magazine.

Saturday morning Mo woke me up around half 9 saying "They're here!". I leapt out of bed, glanced out the window and Bird and Beth were walking up the path to the house. I quickly packed my stuff, had a quick J and a cup of tea, kissed Mojo goodbye and jumped in the car heading for London.

It was a nice quick journey: I lay down, fell asleep, and woke up on the M25. We arrived at Pink...?'s house around 1pm ish.

After lounging around for a couple of hours we ventured into Redhill and got a few supplies. On the way back from town we popped into the fun fair and I had a quick chat with the owner/manager guy and asked if we could come and spin on their site that night. He said yes, so we returned to Pink's for some fantastic fajitas and got our fire stuff together.

We burned for about 3 hours or so to a rotating audience of little kids with the occasional parent. I burned my arm being silly with my staff.

On that note, a word about my staff. On Tuesday (7th) my stick will be 3 weeks old. Already one of the screws has removed itself and vanished, both wicks are unravelling (they were pretty loose to start with) and the metallic coating stuff is peeling off really badly. It rattles when spun, and is incredibly annoying.

I will be contacting Firetoys to have a moan anytime now.

Having burned ourselves out, we zipped back to Pinks to relax. Bird and Pink drove to the station to collect Gelfling, who'd just arrived. The 5 of us then embarked on a mammoth game of monopoly, which Gelfling won.

Sunday 5th September

Woke up around 9ish i think. Quickly showered and dressed and then we wandered round the corner to get a bus to Croydon, then a train from there to Clapham Junction. We got to Clapham common around half 12. Boy was it hot!

Much spinning fun was had by all. A steady stream of people kept arriving until near dark, and I spent most of my time running around learning things off as many people as possible.

Around 9-10ish we wandered back to the station and began the mission back to Redhill. I kept thinking about Mojo. I love her so very much it hurts. Before, i coped with missing her with the knowledge that we were together and that she was missing me too. I feel like we're together now, but we're not, and i have no idea whether she misses me or not.

Got back to Pinks about half 11. We chatted for a bit, then went to sleep.

Monday 6th August 11.47am

Got woken up about 10 by Pink, Bird and Beth leaving to go to Camden to go to Oddballs. I stayed here because a) I have no money, and b) i have to finish the Wire Daisies interview and get it mailed to my new editor as soon as poss. Oh yeah, and c) to update my diary. smile

Thanks to all the amazing people and poiple that i met at Clapham, it was an inspirational day.

Have a good week folks

Ok. I should explain.

You may remember (from a few posts up) that i applied to write for a new magazine called Stranger Magazine, which is a Cornish based glossy, focusing on music and coolness in the west country.

On thursday last i got a phone call from the editor asking me to go and interview this band, the Wire Daisies. I couldn't get back to Falmouth in time (cos i was all loved up at Mojo's) so she asked me to conduct a phone interview. This i did, and i've just mailed the finished article to her. I have as yet no idea whether this will become a regular thing, whether i'll get paid, or anything at all really, but what the hell. For the time being at least, or until anyone tells me different, i am a music journalist. I guess when term starts i'll have to go back to being just a plain old journalism student, but for now I'm a proper journo. All right?

Just spoke to Mojo for about an hour. Am so in love.

hehehehehe. Yup. So when people say "What do you do?" I can say "I'm a music journalist" and they'll all want to give me beer!

It also means i don't have to worry about playing music myself anymore. Now i can just be bitter and cynical about other peoples!

Monday 6th September *continued*

Bird, Beth and Pink returned to Pinks about 3ish and we ate pizza and played with Birds new cone poi. Bade farewell to Lady Pink around 4ish and drove off west. I promptly lay down and went to sleep for a bit. Woke up at a service station, bought some Irn Bru and read "One Hundred Years of Solitude" for most of the ride to Lanson, to Mojo's house.

Gave Mo back her cash card, cuddled, kissed and generally cavorted for about ten minutes (long enough to have a cup of tea and a fag as well wink) then we jumped back into the car and shot off up Delabole way to drop Beth home. Bird then drove me all the way back to Foulmouth before having to drive himself back the way we'd come for an hour to get home to Snozzell. What a star that man is. Three cheers for Bird and his Renault!

Hip Hip! Huzzah!

Hip Hip! Huzzah!

Hip Hip! Huzzah!

I immediately went on the look out for some green, only to find that there's been a bit of a drought on down this way. Bugger it. I could have got some in Lanson when we'd stopped to see Mojo. Ah well. Wandered back from my failed quest and strolled home through the quiet streets of Falmouth, munching a kebab. Damn good kebab too, none of yer "horse an' terrier" in that Charcoal Grill, I can tell ya. smile

Tuesday 7th September

Woke up to my dad ringing me about 10am. He wanted to send me £50. Good lad. Told him to post it, as if he puts it into my account it'll just vanish into the abyss of my overdraft. Got up and showered, headed out for a stroll around. Another amazing day, really hot, but the wind was picking up. Spoke to Hava on the phone and arranged to meet up later to try and sort some green out. Then i went to meet the editor of Stranger Magazine. She seems really nice, and seems to know exactly what she wants to do, which is always a good sign. The magazine's first issue is in October, it's a freebie, and it looks hella cool. We had coffee and smoked in her garden and chatted about music, magazines, Cornwall and a bunch of other stuff. I won't be paid for the writing i'm doing at the moment, but they're looking good for some Objective One funding from the EU (Cornwall gets special treatment cos we're so lovely) and once that comes in, we all get paid. I said i'm more than happy to work for free, as anything i write for them i can submit to college and it goes towards my degree. Win/Win.

Wandered back through town, bought a juggling ball to replace the one Mojo robbed to do contact with. Then i bought the Indie and went and had a coffee in a groovy little bar/café called Blue South. Had to hide behind the paper when i started involuntarily crying whilst reading the coverage of the Russian School Siege. Decided to stay in Blue and have lunch, so i got a green salad with olives and feta. Damn good it was too. Had another coffee after that, and then strolled down to the hotel to go to the gym and do my "hamster-on-a-wheel" impression.

That done, i decided to reward myself by returning to Blue and having a G&T. Finished reading the paper, did the crossword (12 letters, clue: Bewilderment) and then Hava turned up. Had another G&T, she had a vodders, and we strolled off to find some green. After an hour or so of ringing random people, we managed to locate some, and so i went home to have a smoke, while she went to meet her ex for dinner.

Got home, had a smoke, wrote three-quarters of a song. It might well stay as 3/4's to be honest, it's a bit whiny. Amazing how many censored songs you have to write for every half-decent one.

Brad and Josh came over, we got kitted out and made for the beach. We haven't seen each other for 3 weeks, so the whole night was spent clueing each other in on the different things we'd learned, seen and thought of during that time. I hate the fact that my staff wicks are so censored after such a short time, but it does feel so nice rolling around the body. Good stick, bad wick.

We finished up about 11ish and Brad and I went back to mine to listen to the Wire Daisies album my editor had given me. (This is the band I interviewed last week, Helen, the editor, wants me to add another 75 words about the LP itself.) He really liked it, i found it ok. Nothing that Dido, The Cranberries and The Corrs haven't done before, but i should think it'll sell pretty well, so good luck to them.

We popped over to my friend Hippy Steve's house and watched Shaun of the Dead on DVD. Had a smoke. Then we came back to mine and watched Clerks. Fell asleep about 4ish, absolutely wankered.

Wednesday 8th September

Woke up about half ten this morning. Lay in bed smoking a spliff (still haven't bought any milk so couldn't have tea) and listening to the groovy Spearhead cd that Firepoise sent me. (Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you biggrin Yer a beauty, it's wicked) Had a quick shower and headed for town to do some shopping. Went round Tescos, popped into the bargain shop, "Dig n Delve" and bought a couple of old paperbacks and some guitar strings, and went home.

Had curried parsnip soup and crusty white rolls for lunch, despite the fact that its about 25 degrees outside. Read half the paper. Then i wandered in here, to college to finish of the article and mail it to Helen, and update this. Honestly, I spend more time writing about my life than i do living it! smile

Right, I need to go buy tea bags, then go practice with the stick for a bit. SO much to learn, so little time. May go see Spiderman 2 tonight, as it's showing at the local art cinema.

Rereading that last sentence makes me realise that just because the cinema is in the "Arts Centre", doesn't qualify it as an "Art Cinema", as despite both Sam Raimi's and Tobey Maguire's exceptional indie credentials, I don't think you could really call Spiderman (the movie) "Art". Though please note that this is merely my opinion. (Though of course i consider the comics to be art, well, because they are. Not the movie though. That's just junk food for the brain.)

Right. It's a bloody lovely day, and you all need to turn the computers off and go outside to play. Get some colour in yer cheeks.

Be good, stay happy.

what are you talking about confused - it was a beautiful day, if a little on the cool side - and downright chilly once evening hit!

then again I was raised in Texas...

anyway Mags, was it you who lent me the monkey fist wicks to burn sunday night?

If so, thanks a zillion! I really didn't want to travel with mine seeing as how last time I flew my wicks got nicked by security and I only just a couple weeks ago got the materials together to make a new set. plus we only had carry-on luggage...

so thank you thank you thank you if it was you. And sorry for not saying goodbye, but the 3 women I was with were getting hostile about not having had dinner yet and I couldn't find you easily, though babjaga said she said goodbye to you - hope that was enough! beerchug

Hey, you are getting loads of writing practice posting to your thread, you are very fluent at telling your story. Excellent practice. I'm trying to find time to write my story for you and your sister and your collective offspring. Trouble is, I'm spending too much time working to get on very fast.

Spinning is getting a bit better, I can do butterflies forward and back, although bruised myself a bit learning the latter. I'm trying to understand how to weave from looking at video clips. Sometimes I think of a way to spin the poi but when I try to do it, I get tangles or bruises. But it's fun trying. I nearly wrecked the family crystal tonight, I let go of one, it spun past the dogs heads and just missed the crystal decanter! Macduff gave me a *this woman is quite mad* look and went back to sleep, Bianca didn't move, just snored a bit louder!

Congratulations on the commission with the magazine, way to go! Talk again later.

Thursday 9th September 3.00pm

Didn't really do much yesterday. Went and played with my stick for a few hours in the garden. Don't you hate it when you accidentally do something really really cool, then you can't repeat it for love nor money? I did that yesterday. I won't bore you with the details, suffice to say if i could do it on demand, i'd be one happy bunny.

Realised that i had no teabags, so wandered into town to buy some. Popped round to the council offices to ask about busking regs in Falmouth, but they were shut. Had a bit of a chat with my mate Jess who was sat in the sun outside. Then went home and chatted to Mojo on the phone for a bit.

Ate dinner, smoked, played guitar, played Sims (heh heh, i'm a child!) watched Newsnight and then read Marquez for a bit. Wish i could write like that. Ah well.

I only woke up today about 1pm. Which is really really bad, cos i was supposed to go and pay some money into Mojo's bank account so she could get lunch in her lunch break from work. I am a bad person. frown

So, had a shower and popped in here on my way to town to do just that. I have to ring BT as well, and get my phone line connected.

No idea what i'm doing tonight. May go for a burn, or i may just stay in a watch movies.

Still nice and sunny anyway, if less hot than it was.

Take it easy all

P.S. Vanize and Babajaga, i knew who you guys were, even if i was rubbish at introduing myself. Sorry for speaking so fast Babajaga, it's a bad habit.

Thursday was pretty quiet. After i'd been to town to pay in Mojo's money I bought some food at Iceland and went home. Ate dinner. Played sims. Watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Slept.

Friday 10th September.

Got up around 11am. Packed my stuff ready to go to see the kids, had a shower and went to catch the train. Uneventful journey, read some more "Solitude" and met Tamsyn and Rhe at Bodmin Station. She drove us back to hers and i went around to the school to pick Izzy up. She comes out of a different door now, cos she's bigger. Amazing how tanned she was compared to the other kids too! I've got braahn babies. smile

Tamsyn left to go look at houses (she's thinking about moving) and Izzy, Rheanna and I walked down to meet Mojo from work. Did a bit of shopping and then came back to give the kids dinner. Mo came up once she'd been home and changed. Put the girls to bed and Mo's friends Sarah and Louise came over. I cooked dinner for Mojo and me then stuck a pizza in for the others. Watched some crap tv, listened to music, had a poi isolation workshop (as ya do) and then Sarah and Lou went off to the pub.

Mojo and i curled up on the sofa and watched "Rushmore", a truly bizarre film by Wes Anderson. Very funny, in a sad sorta way. Not as good as his next film, "The Royal Tennenbaums", but still hella cool.

Then, having switched the above video off, I made some tea. Came back into the lounge with the tea to find Mojo glued to the beginning of a Jet Li film, "Twin Fighters". Wow. Cool movie. As well as lots of crazy dubbing and kickass fight scenes (Michelle Yeoh from Crouching Tiger was in it too) there was also some truly amazing CJ and staff stuff. And it's pretty gory too, none of ya knocking people out, these guys were punching holes in people!

Then we went to bed.

Saturday 11th September.

Kids are in the lounge watching cartoons and fighting. I know this because every few minutes one of them comes in here crying and accusing the other one of punching/kicking/scratching them. (delete as appropriate) Mo's sleeping still. I'll take her a cup of tea in a bit. And a cuddle. smile

Raining today, so in a minute i'll kit the girls out with some paint and brushes and let them go at it for a while. Should probably tidy up the house a bit too, Rhe has a habit of leaving little deposits of apple skin around the place. Nice! tongue

It's Saturday, yet again. Enjoy it.

The sun really IS shining today, still cold though. We only got to 10C yesterday and it's supposed to be spring DownUnder. I was looking at a pic of Isabelle at 2-3yrs old next to one of me at 5yrs, could almost be the same child, except she's a little more olive skinned than I. Your North African ancestry shows in your littl'uns, Mags. Rhe is very like me too, in regard to apples. I used to leave the apple cores around the house - it drove my Dad up the wall. He once gave me a pendant which was a gold apple core (well - not real gold - but you get the picture) to remind me not to do it. Didn't work.... wink Glad to see the girls are keeping up the old traditions. Call me prejudiced, but I think they are more angel2 than they are devil

Weaving still defeats me, BTW, but I persevere. I could do more out of doors if it stopped raining. This arvo, whilst it has stopped, I am working (yes, and it is Sunday). I have to do one Sunday and one Saturday per semester in the library. When the days get longer maybe I'll go looking for poi people around Melbourne to help me. I do feel a bit shy of it though, I'm a bit superannuated for a swinger really. redface
