Hey
My name's Kat
I'm 21 and from a lovely city of Edinburgh (possibly the best city in Scotland)
I'm currently a student doing a health care course that would take far too much explaining and you'd still not understand what it was when I'd finished.
I did fire swinging for a couple of years (but very basic unskilled stuff) with a youth project I helped run when I was about 16 however after reading all the fire safety and stuff we probably shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near it!
Haven't done any for a while with being at uni but saw some chains on sale on ebay and remembered how much fun I'd had with it in the past, did a google search and well... here I am. With a long summer ahead of me I guessed now was a good time as any to start again.
Unfortunately at the moment I'm the biggest fire hazard you could meet so I don't think I'll be using fire until things are sorted and I'm less of a hazard.
Anything else anyone wants to know feel free to pry though I may decide not to answer if you're too personal!

You can all ignore this, I figured my own thread was the best place to have a little rant and stomp on life.
I'd like to take back the comment in my intro about my summer having started. I've just got my results back and I've failed a module. Yes, people say I should be lucky I've only failed one (I was heading for failing the whole semester on the grounds of ill health) but I'm just so
annoyed. I worked my arse off this semester (especially on that module) I thought I understood the work but obviously I didn't. If I can't understand it the first time around, how the hell am I going to be likely to pass the second time around.
So much for me supposed to be avoiding stressfull situations, now I've got to work my arse off all summer to probably just fail again. It was bad enough that I had some marks defered due to not being able to do my placement.
Stupid stupid social policy. Who needs Collectivism anyhow!
Ok, that's my rant over, damn, it's too early to go to the pub and drown my sorrows.

You have a fair while to go before the exam... so don't stress too much just yet. But start revision. AND remember to eat, and not allow yourself to panic too much

I'm back now, got home to find my results. Unfortunately it's assignment not exam. If it was an exam I wouldn't have minded, I'd have just blamed it on having a bad day. But I can't do that (well I could blame it on a bad semester but it doesn't quite work as easily) It's the fact that I got people to read through it before I handed it in. I'd covered all the same concepts they had but aparently I'm just. 
I obviously didn't know the work when we were doing it in class so the chances of me being able to reteach myself it enough to be able to pass is low.
I guess I should be happy. I thought I was going to fail all the modules. Still gutted though. The stupid thing is, any other module I could have coped with but it's the module that nearly made me give up on my course and quit.
Ah well, I've got an afternoon (and probably a lot of the evening as well) of fun and frolicks in the Peartree ahead of me so by tonight I'll hopefully not even remember my name let alone the fact I failed!

Well I guess I brought mine on my self in a way by chosing to do a job that needs a university degree and therefore continuing my having to put up with the assessment process. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with having to do assignments or with getting graded on them, it's a vital part of the education system. I just hate the fact I failed that module. As I said, any other module would have been fine. I'm just down right when it comes to social policies regards the welfare state and if I don't get 40% on my resit assignment I think I fail the year, but that is not going to happen, I've been through enough [censored] without them keeping me back another year....

I know, that's what I try and convince people but they just don't seem to understand it's greatness. I was thinking I could just go for a paler shade of cord hat for when I'm down home because if I keep with the black my mum will make me take it off. One day she will learn to love me for my hat obsession.
