The N.R.G. is a group of individuals from all denominations, backgrounds, nations, ages, etc. striving collectively toward the realization of the Open Society. There are undoubtedly many conceptions of what an "open society" might entail, and where everyone of "us" has their own notion, I posit the following: the Open Society is based on the roots of community, respect, tolerance, liberty, trust and love.
"We" are fighting the dirty war against the conformity machine, using the tools of intellectual guerilla warfare to subvert mindlessness and apathy the N.R.G. is spreading our mesage of truth and light--through Poi, engagment of the unsuspecting on many levels (as both recruitment and progress) through conversations, quotes and kindness, or whatever suits your fancy.
Come to us with an open heart and an open mind and you will be welcome as a warrior, choose not to follow this path of love, respect, and truth and you will be given a chance and then left behind with a smile, but decide to take a stance opposed to our noble goals and you will be given a verbal thrashing the likes of which you cannot know.

The N.R.G. may not be for everyone, but the path is open to all. Ludwig Wittgenstein once said that one should "just improve yourself, it is the only thing one can do to improve the world." Wittgenstein may have been one of the brightest minds to grace our culture, but his err is here, where he deems self improvment the end all--it is only the beginning my friends. Train hard.

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

Don't worry, ain't nothing scetchy going on. I don't ever plan on meeting anyone who is part of the NRG. This is something I like to think of as collective individuality.

Everyone does there own thing for their own reasons, the only link being a common interest in peace, truth, love, justice, etc. I study philosophy and politics and I find that my position in life offers me many oppurtunities for social action--why not take them? I don't want money, I don't want fame, all I want is for people who think like me to take whatever action they can. If i can do that by anonymously posting idealistic notions of societal improvment then so be it--I like to personally do more, but the nature of this effort doesn't allow for recognition.
The NRG utilizes intellectual guerilla tactics like writing quotes on walls, making people stop and think in the middle of their routine through whatever means possible, etc.--pretty much anything you can think of to interrupt the cycle of conformity that is plauging our generation and those that are following us. (If you can conceive of a mixture of Tyler Durdin from "Fight Club" and Amelie Poulin from the like titled movie, that's what i'm going for--radical social change, only on the friendly, happy side...not dirty and violent, but bright and full of love!) If it is nothing more than turning off the television and spinning poi with your little sister, there is still good to be done.
I can fully admit how this stuff could sound like a cult--it's been called that before, but don't fear what you don't understand. That's what they want us to do--it impedes tolerance and it makes community impossible.
We live in a world where Liberty has been given the lead role, and in a society where freedom is the pinnacle of progress we need community and tolerance more than ever! Being free and being equal are natural enemies, and so we need to take our unity further to help those who are being oppressed--be they in Kuwait, North Korea, Australia, Germany or the United States. What I am looking for is not a quick fix to the riddle of history, but people willing to be active. that's all.

i'd also like to find someone with some fire whips, but i'll start small...

Gabriel

ps: i'm not sure what you mean by trance, but if it's music then count me out.
