REINTRODUCING
Old dude: Matt
Age: 29 soon, Signs: grey hairs, bad knees, heart surgery, use of phrases such as "Back in my day", reactions to MTV. Contradictions: attitude, manner of speech, dopy look, humour, teenager like housekeeping.
Where?: Fremantle Perth West Australia, previously Broome WA, Port hedland WA, Durham UK, Adelaide SA, Sydney briefly, Jindabyne NSW (snow) Airlie Beach QLD
Spinning: Poi and secondly staff since Aug 2001. Fired up on 1st night twirling, followed 6 month every day addiction. Done some gigs at pubs and things a few times since then with 3rd Degree, now split up. Good times.
Spinning crew: (piccies) dearest to me are jemma & PK from down south and the days of yore twirling every day and doing gigs. South Beach mondays ppl Kye and James Rachel and all others. Many silly nights and fire down pants. All spinners in perth. Big up respect to Fitzy wherever you are
Recent funny story about bad health: so I've had this heart disorder (WPW) my whole life that was apparently dangerous to my health as I had the occasional palpitation. One day I had one and it didn't go away and I went to hospital and they cardio averted me. Think "CLEAR! BZZT".
Next day they call me back and say that it's potentially life threatening so they put me in for observation and a week later an op called catheter ablation. Basically a remote control wire zappy thing in your heart. Strange feeling, very high tech bizzo. Any way, it worked and I'm cured.
Music:this moment D&B other times, spearhead, ben harper, john butler & waifs(local) 1 Giant leap, massive attack, prodigy, some jazz, classical, psy trance and chill out and other stuff too.
Movies: notsomuch Hollywood, arthouse stuff in the old days.
Occupation. Shitkicker in a factory and Travel Agency student starting Monday. Retired chef. I hate the hospitality industry. Previously a waiter, cheese maker, vineyard labourer, dishy, flyer bitch, hostel reception.
TV quotes and silliness:Simpsons, South Park, Monkey Magic, Roger Ramjet Red Dwarf
Philosophy: fighting fatalist, the world is as it should be, and it is so as long as I am doing my thing.
Hobbies non-fire: Homebrew, yes yes y'all. Beer every day. Beer every day. Beer every day

Family tree: Scottish Irish English Russian by way of Australia India and Malaysia
Chai recipe: Boil a small ammount of water with equal parts ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, star anise, pepper and some sugar. simmer to infuse flavours. Add a teabag briefly then top up with milk(soy or bovine) and heat only to serving temp 72ish. Share somewhere quiet where you can see things.
